South Carolina is slinging NIL money. They just added a top 26 LB from GA
You can’t convince me other wise.

Like that was a whole big thing, their fans couldn't believe that a 4 star WR would flip from South Carolina to Virginia Tech when Tech was coming off such a bad year prior. The word going around from connected SC people is that VT's NIL program was more advanced and VT was simply willing to pay more for a 4 star player than SC was (as in, SC's budget constraints meant they had to use it on players a smaller number of presumably higher-impact players).

Kinda pathetic.
I could only wish we were as aggressive, and wanted it as bad as they do. South Carolina is building an athletic department with multiple national championships in baseball and women's basketball.
I hope Shane wins it all.

Based on what I've seen five to six wins a year will buy you four or five years as an HC, after that the AD will want to roll the dice and see if they can do better.

every year. 6 wins consistently and he will have Saturdays in the Fall off.

Remember when everyone snickered at Beamer's presser in 1987 when he said we wanted to win a national championship at Virginia Tech?
After the 1995 Sugar Bowl, that wasn't a punchline anymore.

I wish there was as much optimism and determination in the VT fanbase, but we've been beat down pretty good.

for the Hokies..He waltzed in like he owned the place, and rubbed some coaches the wrong way..PLUS, he replaced Cav in those territories, and THAT pissed off a lot of local coaches; both in Richmond and the 757.
Not at all saying his style was wrong. It was just bad timing for him to be using his SEC recruiting style in Virginia; especially with being Frank's son....
Shane is a good coach and will be in the business for a long time IMO

I agree he is a good coach but they expect to beat Clemson every year and that's not happening.

Wishing him luck is wishing VT fails at football.
He told his boosters that his job in recruiting was to make sure Virginia Tech fails in their recruiting, so screw him! Don't give him the time of day as long as he's attacking VT recruiting.

The closest they ever came to sniffing a national championship. They started 9-0 and were ranked #1, then they were inexplicably blown out by a mediocre Navy team.
