The VA media in the 80's was
all in for the ACC teams. But especially UVa and UNC. It was laughable for the writers to ever consider VT to be on equal footing with ACC teams. What Beamer did for the football program and the university can NOT be overstated. But there are still remnants of that attitude toward VT from some writers. You can probably guess which ones.

Correct. They won the 1966 NFL championship game on Jan 1 1967 in Dallas.
Then won the 1967 NFL championship game in Green Bay (the Ice Bowl) Dec 31 1967.

3. Will the SEC accept the B1G getting two new states while they get only one?

Since speculation and rumors run wild here...
Add this to the list of WAS (Wild Ass Speculations). Remember when the PGA and LIV were going at it? Saudi money was backing LIV. After all that got resolved someone high up in the PGA made reference to the Saudi point man being in Tallahassee meeting with FSU. It seems like FSU is going to spend big money to get out of the ACC. Where is that money coming from?

Same here.
Packer fan because of Carroll Dale. Dodger fan because of my dad. VT fan my whole life and Beamer being from my hometown turbo charged that. Knew all the coaches, players (both O and D depth charts). Climbed up the Hokie Club ranking. With age comes the realization that sports is not the be all and end all of human existence. All these changes coming only puts sports in its proper place in my life.

SEC football is a religion. Hard core SEC football fans can name
everyone on their schools 2 deep roster plus know all their opponents starters on O and D.

I was a kid when we would stop by there and get a bucket of KFC on the way
to games. Sat in the back seat holding the bucket with the smell of fried chicken permeating the car. Couldn't wait to park to start eating. Good times.

The SEC has elevated itself to the level of
the likes of the NY Yankees, Dallas Cowboys, ND. Most people either loved them or hated them. They would watch to see them win or they would watch to see them lose. That is called a win-win for the networks.
