Hey guys didn't mean to stir up a hornets nest re FSU info..
Texted the a guy a few times more last night, he pretty tight lipped on details..
Will say his brother is a prominent lawyer in FL( also a fsu alum), I think this is where his info coning from , not university.
As for those who question the logistics, my long-standing views has been the TV networks are going to drive this whole thing and they will do whatever they think puts $$ in their picket and if it means colliding and violating anti trust stuff and blowing up conferences( see pac 12) to make what they want happen ,it's going to happen.
Finally, jmo I getvthe impression FSU does not really fear the " wrath" of jim Phillips or the Acc...I mean cmon would you if we were in their shoes?? The GOR will go away and I'm sure the 440 million will be negotiated well down once the Acc is done...

there is no reason for the acc to negotiate imho
“bleed FSU to death and get paid doing it” , will be the mantra

time and again prior to and since Bobby Bowden left they have no clue how to run the program he built for them without him there to keep the kids in line. I would not expect them to fear Phillips or the ACC. To fear anything or anyone requires a level of intelligence and self awareness far beyond what FSU leadership likely possesses.

2 national championships, great uniforms ( the traditional ones) , talent rich state, school is easy to get into, smoking hot co eads, an HBCU right there in the state capital close to campus. The ingredients are all there for them to return to greatness. They were dominant at one point, the streak of top 5 finishes will be hard to match

promoting them as such. Same with all but ND, USC, Bama, Texas and a couple of others.

but, given the fact you interpreted it that way I should clarify further. During Bowden's tenure he managed the full show. He kept boosters in line, he kept administrators focused and he kept the players pulling in the common direction. They ran him out with the Coach-in-waiting gig and so far Jimbo(with one championship), Taggart and Norvell have not kept all the balls in the air. Boosters, admins, etc. all have issues and the coaching part may have been resolved for the moment but, the booster and admin parts are still TBD. For FSU to return to prior levels ALL the areas have to fire together and I think there are unresolved questions surrounding the President, AD, BOT and some other powerbrokers. Bobby Bowden was E. F. Hutton, when he spoke EVERYBODY listened and got in line.

Every team that has won a natty recently had periods where they were told they were done. Michigan before Harbaugh, OSU before Tressell and Meyer, Alabama before Saban, Georgia before Smart, USC before Carroll, Oklahoma before Stoops, Clemson before Dabo. All of these schools were left for dead.
FSU is in one of, if not the best talent rich states. Some might say they have a better profile than Florida. If they get the right coach, they have all the resources to win again, especially if they get in a conference that will associate them with the other football powers. Will they? Who knows but they are not a dead forever program.

Add this to the list of WAS (Wild Ass Speculations). Remember when the PGA and LIV were going at it? Saudi money was backing LIV. After all that got resolved someone high up in the PGA made reference to the Saudi point man being in Tallahassee meeting with FSU. It seems like FSU is going to spend big money to get out of the ACC. Where is that money coming from?

To raise capital...
Either way , the FsU alum alum view staying in Acc as slow death and untenable and will take pain in the short term for what they perceived is to be the future of the game/ tv revenue streams...in VTs case I would hope the BOv and AD is in its an every man for himself mode and not worry about hurting remaining ACc members feelings...
