Don't disagree, but OTOH VT probably has the biggest improvement at QB
in the country. I was impressed with the kid at PSU....and VaTech QB was not P4 level. So there is that.
I think people are are jumping the gun by 1-2 years, most of our talent upgrade is young.

I don’t see many rentals of senior players, Franklin is constructing depth for future years. We may even have strata of depth at some spots.

Made. You tell me how Notre dame won and was dropped in final rankings allowing teams to jump them.
I promise you this. The TV networks who took a bloodbath of ratings will ensure that the committee changes things to ensure this type of disaster never happens again. They paid Notre vs Oregon money when they bid on TV rights and ended up with Oregon vs a D2 team in a matchup less competitive than the dodgeball game in Billy Madison.

I mean the ACC Championship game was a pillow-fight between Va/Duke
So even mediocre coaching with the influx of talent will get the program back to 8-9 wins. So there is reason to withhold judgement.
OTOH, we have the #4 salary pool for Ass coaches, so far this isn't top-5 WOW on paper. Will be interesting to see the full staff emerge

ND has escalation dominance.
The ACC is ND’s side chick, but it’s the best deal the ACC can strike.
If the ACC loses ND, the conference is SCREWED. The ACC championship game drew fewer fans than some high school games. The conference is in no position to threaten anyone. Even the Big 12 had a compelling game in front of a huge crowd.

Is a disaster.
The ACC just had a championship game between Virginia and Duke that drew dozens of fans to a huge stadium. It’s death to TV ratings. ACC bowls won’t get ND, VT, FSU…they’ll be stuck with Duke and Virginia.
The Championship will not have ND and will have 3 loss Bama, Tulane, and JMU. That’s disastrous. These networks are paying huge $$$ for awful teams that nobody wants to watch. The won’t keep bidding huge $ for such a poor product, the guarantee to ND if they are top 12 is smart but 1 year too late. .

Smart. Worst case scenario for TV networks/Bowls. ACC had dozens @ champ
game. ND puts butts in seats and gets people to watch TV.
ND is going to have TV Networks and money losing bowls FURIOUS with this absurd Championship structure and Bowl selection. If i were them, I'd bid less $$ next time due to the risk of goofy decisions like this. ACC Bowls are gonna get stuck with Duke/UVa/Wake and their 200 fans who travel.

Will be interesting to compare this year's Tulane/JMU games to last year when the premire program in CFB was in the playoff.

I assume he’s been working for a couple weeks.
PSU has 15-16 decommits, conversations should have been happening to figure out the staff. In some ways, work may slow down when it becomes official.

That’s a disaster for espn.
The content companies’ best option is collecting a very high price from every subscriber in a given cable bundle. YTTV is essentially a cable bundler at this point. Then Disney get paid by everyone in that bundle without having to go earn a direct subscription to their streaming service to get paid.

Amateurs are focused on new FB Coach. Pros are focused on new VT AD.
The landscape of CFB is insane. Coaches are getting fired and leaving all over. It’s CRITICAL that we find a competent AD that can 1)Identify the right coach 2)structure and update coaches’ comp packages(including 2 way buyouts) 3)guide payroll distribution between HC, Assistants, Advisors, etc.
I don’t think it’s hyperbole to say that Whit has been bottom 2% at the above. I’m far less interested in poaching JMU’s FB Coach than I am in Grabbing their AD.

Refs usually try to avoid determining the outcome of the game. They are dominating outcome of this game.

VT fans are complicit in our failed football program. Passivity is a
Real problem. Fans would have revolted LONG, LONG ago at most P5 programs. Our crew just tolerates very poor leadership and shows up to games.
Real football fans would be flying planes with banners demanding changes. Asking Whit to hire another coach is crazy town. I hope the fans force real changes.

I hated the Pry hire from the start, 0 experience at HC, DC, OC. Failure
was highly likely with the selection of HC, OC, DC. I don't think a competant AD would have signed off on such a foolish plan.
