It would certainly make the Fenway Bowl more appealing
Probably increase the attendance of the minor bowl sites and open up new venues as well. Match ups could be based on previous season's conference standing and still have the conference tie-ins. There's a greater chance for a rematch game within the season than how things are done now, but the playoffs also have that rematch component.

I think it was coordinated by both sides
In an effort to deescalate the situation and give Israel political cover to go along. Iran is quickly picking up the phone to call their neighbors to ask for help getting Israel to back off now that plans are public. Israel will hit Iranian assets and militias but I think the leak was a US effort to get them to slow their roll.

I guess you never played at Mt. Rogers School
Nothing like a bus ride on route 58 through the mountains to get your gut ready to play basketball.

I saw someone in BBurg riding this on South Main
holding a case of Busch Light on his shoulder. The other hand was used for making turn and stop signals, and he was wearing a helmet, gloves, kneepads. I think I would call an Uber for a beer run instead.

I think the entire course is in FEMA's 100 year flood plane
And some of the earlier homes built prior to 2005 when maps were updated. I haven't heard if any of those took on water.
Western NC's rainfall was considered a 14,000 year flood, meaning a 0.007% chance of happening, and good portion of that in the New River watershed.

I would prefer they go to 8 nine school divisions
Kind of like the old conferences used to be??? First playoff round is the top two per division. Then reseed from those winners.

Lots of controversy over this in the hiker community
Since she didnβt carry a full pack like the average thru-hiker, had near daily drop points for food/h20, car camping.
Regardless, still an amazing feat of strength.

Don't they need 8 to be a "conference"?
Who will be the next two?
Utah? Nevada? Montana should make the jump up.

Still, when in Boone or Valle Crusis it's a place to stop and look around.

After this summer, I would sell that BBurg only gets above 90 degrees
for a couple of days each year.

The SEC would be smart to grab all 8
And just maybe replace Duke with GT. Lock up the Mid Atlantic and all the South with state schools. I think they could even do 9:30 EST kickoffs for Central Time Zone schools and draw a lot of eyes.

Duke & GT were not in the Mag7
But I would keep GT. TV $$ and their desire for content says otherwise, but I would add WVU, Louisville to round it out at 10 teams, 9 conference games in football. No need to head west unless the deal is too good to say no.

For a Big12 invite, there would be a fight
but say Wake Forest doesn't want to live in the huge athletic budgetary world any longer and would prefer the SunBelt or even drop to CAA level. Then I think there would be a compromise release of membership.

Anyone know how much $ increase the carriage fees for the ACCN
In California and Texas is expected to bring in this fiscal year, or whenever it goes up from having schools in each state? Iβm too lazy to look too long for it, just piqued my interest though.

No, but here is an old Dennis Dodd article mentioning the agreement
The out looks like it would be buying back the GOR and exit fee for olympic sports.
Conference Realignment Board

Part of the deal with the ACC in 2016
Was that IF they joined a conference for football before 2036, it had to be the ACC. They're a free agent after the GOR expires.

The contraction could be a mass exodus or
just Clemson and FSU. With the Big12 mouthpieces blowing smoke about the SEC and B1G turning down those two schools, there might be some validity to a mass exodus. A smaller $ total TV contract but with fewer mouths to feed could be appealing to a network and a break away conference.
If there are schools on the open market, I think UNC and UVa get a SEC invite. Now we're down to the Magnificent 5.
A 10 school conference that makes some sense geographically is my idea of a perfect conference. Round robin basketball and you play everyone in football. FSU, Clemson, VT, NCSU, Miami, GT, Pitt, + ND in a similar ACC deal. That leaves two spots. WVU woud be my top choice when the Big12 GOR are close to resetting (2031 I think). Do you add Duke for basektball eyes? They're pretty good at other sports too, just not football. Louisville? They seem like a good geographic partner and have a big fan and donor base. SMU, because it's in DFW? See if aTm wants to be a part of something new and get away from UT? At this point who knows, but as a VT fan I don't want to be stuck in no mans land with BC and WF when the dust settles.

Fountain City and Farragut are nice areas
Farragut being a more busy area, Fountain City closer to UT and more of the older subdivision of Knoxville. I have friends in the Norwood area and they really like it there. Maryville is a nice place too and away from the business of Knoxville. And this assumes that you might be priced out of Sequoyah Hills.

Add ND, aTm, SMU
to the Mag 7 and it's not too bad of a grouping. ND gets their annual trip to Texas out of it, one of those at Jerry Jones house every other year. When aTm plays at Cassell, every VT fan in the house has to wear one of those Buzz diamond sweaters.

Same dude that had the Network Horse Trading tweet
from a couple of days ago, but I think INSIDE99 also threw out the idea after TX took aTm's baseball coach. It's just a blurb, but still a little more wind on the rumor embers.

Rumors swirling that aTm wants a new P2 home
If that comes to pass, how does that impact other B1G poaches for the P2? SEC backfilling?
I can't see their fan base excited for home games against Illinois and Purdue, so I would imagine they would make up a western pod with USC, UCLA, Washington, Oregon, Nebraska; assuming the conference grows to 24 schools. Is getting away from the Longhorns worth it to lose games with LSU, Alabama, Oklahoma, Arkansas? I don't see the logic in this other than butthurt pride.

I see The Metro 2.0 coming
I just enjoyed a lot of crack smoke, so hear me out...
FSU, Clemson, UNC, NCST, UVa, VT, Miami, GT, Louisville break away and form their own group. Maybe they move headquarters into the old ACC office space in Greensboro. In 2031, they invite WVU. A the same time, SEC schools SC, KY, Auburn grow tired of the Bama vs. UGa championship decade jump ship to the Metro. The CW, the power channel in sports, gives the Metro a new deal until 2051 if all sign a GOR. FSU is first to grab the pen.

The AT in Virginia sure has had it's share of violent crime
for such a secluded strip of land. I assume that was part of their hiking trip.
I hope Montgomery Co. and VSP cross reference any evidence they have on the unsolved Caldwell Fields murders to this guy. He was out of jail during the timeline that happened and pretty close to the AT.

Probably an official announcement by FSU and/or CU
That they are leaving, thus contraction of the league. I doubt a settlement will be reached for a while but they are signaling to not include them while working on the β25-β26 sports schedules.

There are just north of 3900 colleges and universities in the US
in 10-15 years, there will only be enough kids of college age to sustain about 2900 of those schools at their current enrollment. That is why the small private colleges are in a fight for their life. Most have added a lot of debt to outclass the competition with fancy dorms, fancy foods, sports teams, all while getting top heavy with administrators and cutting their course offerings, mostly in liberal arts.
VT will be fine. Schools like Ferrum, Bridgewater, E&H, Concord will struggle to keep the doors open.

That's what the ACCN and the CW are for!
The ACC will get it's share of nooners, ESPN2, ESPN+, but the majority (3 or 4 with late night) will be on ACCN. Get deep into the season and there may be only 3 games on non-ACCN/CW channels. I don't see many games making it to ABC or ESPN unless it's a top 25 match up, vs. SEC, vs. ND, or FSU vs. Miami; and the Friday night games.

Cool thing about Billy Strings
Is that he can cross over to different genres of music and not miss a beat.
The man loves old time Bluegrass and can probably play every Doc Watson song behind his back.
He has sat in with Bill Kreutzmann's Billy & the Kids - mostly playing Grateful Dead tunes. He played with Tool this past winter. He played a few Ozzy and Led Zep songs at a Halloween "Lord of the Rings" Cosplay concert last year. And he has a good rags to riches story to boot.

The FOX angle is why
I think VT and Miami end up in the B1G with FSU, Clemson, and maybe ND. VT and Miami will carry those two markets, FSU and Clemson will dip into ATL.
VT vs. Miami, FSU, Clemson, PSU would be big for TV eyes. Maybe this is how VT finally plays Wisconsin.
UVA, UNC, NCSU, Duke to the SEC. I know, Duke makes no sense for football, but keeping those 3 Carolina schools for basketball help the SEC brand. Baseball for those 4 are already up to par for the SEC.

currently have that in my fridge
It's not great but not bad.
Now, Trader Joe's Simpler Times beer ($2.99 / 6 pack) tastes like you have a mouthful of nickels. Besides some seriously skunked beer, it's the worst I've had.
I found a commemorative Miller Lite 1996 Carolina Panthers NFC Champ can in a footlocker I used in college. This was around 2014 or so. Brought it on a camping trip and cracked it open to pass around the campfire. That earned the title of nastiest beer to-date.

GPS is sending people over Clinch Mountain on route 80
Which is basically a 1 lane road full of switchbacks on the Russell County side. A couple of trucks pulling campers and 18 wheelers didn't heed the warning signs at the base of the mountain and are stuck. If you've ever hiked the Channels, this is the road to the trailhead.

Theyβre not going to kick the dead weights out
The conference leaders are going to alienate the bad teams to the point they want to leave. At most, a 8pm EST start should be the rule for west coast games.

The name will survive
But the larger schools will re-org somehow and the smaller schools will keep the ACC (Wake, Duke) name in NC. At that point, JMU might even be invited to join their party to get the DC market!
The bigger schools of the Big 12 and ACC should eventually merge into east / west divisions to make up the P2.75, assuming the SEC only takes UNC and UVA, and the B1G only takes FSU, Clemson.
(Big) East: WVU, Pitt, VT, NC State, GT, Miami, Syracuse, Louisville (barf), Cincinnati, UCF
West: Colorado, Kansas, K-State, Texas Tech, TCU, Utah, Arizona, OK State, SDSU, Iowa State

For branding, it makes sense for the SEC to
desire FSU and Clemson. Florida, Auburn, Georgia, South Carolina may protest but that would just add to the rivalry juices.
FSU's "Project Osceola" that was leaked showed a revenue payout that matched the SEC's future payout per school, so that lends another nugget to SEC guess.
All that said, the B1G would probably love to get FSU, Clemson, GT, Miami for built-in rivalries. Then a contiguous state path to UNC and UVa. That parks them at 24 schools. ND is already in B1G hockey, so they'll likely hitch their olympic cart to this horse.
In an ideal world, the SEC would answer in kind and grab VT, NCSU, WVU, Pitt, Kansas, K-State, Texas Tech, Oklahoma State to match the B1G 24.
Networks may have more $ to throw at conferences if 2 or 3 conferences cease to exist (ACC, Big12, MW), and one or two new conferences are born from the fallout.
There are probably 10 years worth of lawsuits to filed over this, and I don't see how some of the Big12 would get left out of big-boy football. We're probably looking at more court cases of schools vs conferences, conferences vs networks, schools vs schools.

The first real concert I attended was the Allman Brothers
At Viking Hall in Bristol, TN. I really enjoyed the ABB before that night but seeing them live sealed the deal. Govβt Mule opened for them too, which included two of the ABB members. Dickeyβs son Duane, probably 15 at the time, came out and played a song with them.
Crazy coincidence of the day is that I picked out a ABB Eat a Peach tshirt for my son to wear to school this morning, well before any news broke. I gave it to him for Christmas but today was the first time it entered his short sleeve cycle.

Which poses a "what if" question
If ND could cherry pick any school not in the B1G or SEC, who would they be to create a football affiliated group (not the dreaded conference) of 8 schools?
