and people in general but also protective against strangers (though I think she'd just end up licking them to death), friendly to other dogs who are friendly to her but has a sense for when other dogs are mean, puts up with my son's over the top cuddling and has never bitten him once (and I wouldn't blame her if she did), is so soft and easy to take care of. My daughter wants a second dog and I would support it but my wife doesn't think we'll get as lucky again and so far has said no.

know you? Be REAL EASY about letting her sniff you out. Odds are she's going to bark like crazy at you. That said, I can take her on a walk and when she's on the leash she's cool. Probably because she's not protecting our home while out on a walk. Walk into my living room and she's going to let you know she's there. And she's only 6 months old. She's 50 pounds now and is probably only half as big a she's going to get.

got older, he had a REAL problem with any kind of delivery people. We had a hill/upper level behind the house in the backyard, and he would pace back and forth on the edge of it, snorting, sniffing, searching... for any type of delivery, starting around 11 am. It was like his mission. Once a truck or walking mailman was heard or spotted, he bolted down to the house level and toward the gates at either side of the front of the house going ballistic. The other dogs knew to stay clear, as he would snap at them if they tried to join in. I had to mount some sacrificial wooden closet rods on the fence for him to tear up instead of him chewing up the fence itself. I used to whisper, "Where's your UPS, boy?" to get him going, haha. I guess that was wrong? We also had a game when I was raking leaves. I was "safe" with the rake in my hands, but he would rush in and tear up the leaf pile when he could. Then, anytime I set the rake down, he would run in and start chomping down on my pant leg, and I had to drag him along. The game evolved with me strategically leaning big sticks against trees at various spots and I would have to sprint from tree to tree as he tried to get me when I was "vulnerable" without a stick. He was a pretty entertaining dog, ha.

he hears one of those trucks. I'm sure it's because the delivery person we used to have left treats. But when he hears that mail van, it is on.

they love the water.... Love my Giant Schnoodle (Standard poodle and Giant Schnauzer). She's great watch dog and protector. If you're one of her peeps, she'll fearlessly protect you from anything at their own expense. Won't bite a human and is great with grandkids....

A bud breeds Pudelpointers, which are a cross of a Poodle and a Pointer. I had no idea what they looked like until I did a websearch...lol

Have the full benefit of not shedding so much hair. I wonder if that applies to all breeds that get mixed with poodles?

...pure breeds, although I don't think poodles have many issues.
