True. Except $EC wa$ a pro at it.

Once it wa$ made legal for everyone, $EC lo$t a big advantage.

TT has given up on this game.

He pulled the relief pitcher so she could start tomorrow's game. If TT had tied the game up, I bet he would have left her in.

Makes sense I think.

VT is further south and closer to fertile southern recruiting grounds.

Hokie Avalanche is 100% correct.

Just think what Tincher & Rochard or Lemley, for that matter, would be like with our current hitters.

What are the rules WRT the pitching box?

I figure the pitchers lead foot is supposed tp stay inside the box. If the front part of the foot is on the outside of the line, but the heel is still on it, is that a legal pitch? And what about the front line of the box? Is the lead foot supposed to inside the line? What if the pitcher naturally has a long stride that takes the foot completely outside the line?

I will never understand why we seem to be joined at the hip with BC.

BC is in the ACC because Miami wanted them. If BC was joined at the hip of anyone it should be Miami.

Bristol was a one off, for several reasons.

The track owner, who wanted the game for over a decade, had to do a lot of demolition in the infield, plus truck in tons of dirt, and sod. He wouldn't do that on a regular basis. Also, fans would start staying away. Horrible place to see a game. I was there. I did it because of it being an event, a thing. I knew before hand I wouldn't be able to see crap on the field. Any future games in Bristol and I'd stay home and watch the game.

It would be interesting to extend the dimensions some.

I suspect today's women SB players have out grown the old dimensions.

Don't extend to 9 innings.

Great thing about SB is the time length of the game.

I have one interesting observation. Not germane to this conversation ...

... to this conversation, of course, but when ever women athletes are talked about, only their height is ever mentioned, while with men athletes, both height AND weight are given.

Was an exception made for Tincher and the actual number retired, ...

... or was just her jersey. If not the number, then an exception should be made in her case. She shouldn't be penalized because the athletic department needed to protect itself from itself. In football they were beginning to retire numbers like it was candy. ** Edited by Atlee Hokie at 5/22/2026, 5:47:34 AM

I grew up in Southampton Co.

Franklin to the east on US-58 and Emporia to the west on US-58.

Fair winds and a following sea.

By the way, what aircraft did you fly while in the Navy?

I still believe the committees use whatever criteria they need to help ...

... their favored teams. And we know the $EC is at the top of their favored teams.

What? That's crazy talk.

Georgia was more loyal because she played at Tech 4 years, got a degree and then ran off to UK, that Mike was by just playing 2 years and then going pro as the #1 overall pick in the NFL draft. If Mike didn't go to the pros as the #1 overall pick, he would have been declared certifiably insane.

I was going to say the NCAA can't be stupid enough to let ...

.... underclassmen get another year, but not allow current seniors the same courtesy, but then again it is the NCAA. NCAA always stupid stuff which which they lose on when sued in court.

Do you know why they went away?

Negative pressure by AD? Lost of interest of those running those organization?
