Since the uva-ncsu game is no longer in Brazil, hopefully, it’s no longer a
prime time national broadcast and will hurt their viewership numbers.

I heard game being moved to France thus being a home game for Hoos.

Was odd to have these 2 in Brazil to begin with...I could see
a ND vs MIA type of match-up but teams are becoming more protective with their non-conf schedules/opponent strength

I'm not sure any college game will really move the needle in Brazil.
Especially not NCSU-UVa. NFL, sure.

I can't imagine many Brazilians were dying to see a UVA-NC State game
Seems WAY down the list of things they'd be interested in down there.

From the beginning, that game never made sense.

FWIW UVA does have a connection to Brasil. I'm not saying that is the
reason UVA agreed to play its football game there. However, UVA may have been planning to use the game to promote its academic connection with the country. NC State may have a similar relationship with the country and could have been planning to do the same thing. Most likely the "promotion" would have been nothing more than the announcers doing a filler segment during the game where they may have showed a video clip of the players visiting the university and then they talk about UVA's (or NC State's) said relationship with the Braisilian school.

It was never a primetime game. Previously scheduled for 3:30 on espn.
Which, I think, would have been 4:30 Rio time.

Correct. Brasilian Time Zone is 1-5 hours ahead of the US depending on
where in the US you are located. A side note - Brasil doesn't observe daylight savings time.

Sounds like it will still be a week zero game

Probably - otherwise ESPN would have no 3:30 game. Schedule is light.
