Here's the roster going forward..
2 assumptions...
1. Sars gets a redshirt for this season.
2. 4 years of eligibility. (Maybe a bad assumption.)
As noted previously, there will need to be at least one transfer out to reach the roster limit of 25 for 2027. If they want to make any additions via the portal, there would need to be more than one departure.

that may mitigate the need for transfer, barring a transfer being a really, really, really nice player
Maybe Gaby Mizelle moves back to second base, opening a spot in the OF. Addison Foster could stay in CF rather than move to 2nd. We essentially need to fill the OF and DP spots.
Rising sophomores
Mia Gagliardi - not necessarily at catcher
Lily Pallante
Charlotte Moore - it will be interesting to see if she can make a move.
Jordan Bishop - Got some play and showed some promise in limited ABs. DP candidate?
MJ Abernathy - ?
Incoming freshman
Mylie McCoy - Outfielder - 27th ranked by Extra Innings. 1st time VHSL 5A All-Region. Hit .352 for her career
There could be others. I assume we will be on the hunt for an impact OF/DP type hitter. That conversation will be had a bit later.

It's not clear which classes will be affected by the new rule, but the NCAA President said "If you've used up your eligibility, you've used it up," Baker told ESPN of the tenor of the discussion of the Division I board of directors on Monday."
So this year's seniors will not get a fifth year.

These players are out of eligibility and they haven't even approved it yet so it make sense that it starts with next year's seniors.

The initial concern was that the rule would create chaos because of current seniors getting a fifth year and coaches not having notice and being unable to prepare for it.
But the NCAA has reportedly distributed information that would seem to indicate that current student athletes (non-seniors) will get a fifth year.
Stay tuned.

so that current players other than seniors aren’t jeopardized by the new rule?

.... underclassmen get another year, but not allow current seniors the same courtesy, but then again it is the NCAA. NCAA always stupid stuff which which they lose on when sued in court.
