After yesterday I think most of the rest of the world was rooting against us.

You are mixing criticisms of amateur athletes and NIL with specific problems about international players. And that's fine but it does mean some people might latch on to one part of the argument or the other. As far as your main point about visas go I think calling it "blatant fraud" also hurts your point. That's a pretty charged term to use especially since it doesn't seem like it's fraud in the legal sense of things. Instead it comes across as you feeling very strongly about something and making hyperbolic statements because of that. Similarly you have said that you don't "blame" Avdalas and others but the first sentence and subsequent posts and points certainly could be interpreted that way. For example, you think they should remedy the problem themselves instead (by asking for a work visa) instead of looking to the various governing bodies to fix it. Put another way, it's not Avdalas' fault that he's able to come here on a student visa. He's working with the framework that currently exists. The bottom line is as long as college athletes (foreign or otherwise) are still treated and classified as students then there's not really much that can be done. You might not consider them students but that doesn't make it true. And until something changes from an official/legal perspective there's no incentive for players or schools to change how they operate.

A couple of years ago my company made a decision that was pushed by two C-level execs. Pretty much everyone else in the company thought it was a terrible idea but it didn't matter. The two leaders left the company and we just paid several hundred thousand dollars to get out of the contract and revert to what we were doing previously. Point being there could be plenty of rank and file employees who disagree with how things are being run but are powerless to do anything about it.

But it’s still a gut punch of a loss.

up two. Even in hindsight it makes zero sense. We let one get away. It’s frustrating but it happens all the time in every sport (and not just to VT). When you blow a big lead late and lose on a last second shot there are plenty of opportunities for second guessing. But not fouling at the end isn’t one of them.

fouling up three is mixed at best with a lean towards not fouling. Fouling when up by two isn’t a remotely viable option. It’s just objectively bad and stupid.

pretty much the opposite of a fact. It’s an emotional knee jerk response to a frustrating and disappointing loss. Now you can argue that is an understandable reaction but that doesn’t make it a fact.

any game where one team has a multiple score lead late and loses will show a similar probability swing. It’s really not that uncommon. Obviously it’s frustrating to lose a game that we were well in control of and should have won but the win % graph is pretty meaningless.
