You are mixing criticisms of amateur athletes and NIL with specific problems about international players. And that's fine but it does mean some people might latch on to one part of the argument or the other. As far as your main point about visas go I think calling it "blatant fraud" also hurts your point. That's a pretty charged term to use especially since it doesn't seem like it's fraud in the legal sense of things. Instead it comes across as you feeling very strongly about something and making hyperbolic statements because of that. Similarly you have said that you don't "blame" Avdalas and others but the first sentence and subsequent posts and points certainly could be interpreted that way. For example, you think they should remedy the problem themselves instead (by asking for a work visa) instead of looking to the various governing bodies to fix it. Put another way, it's not Avdalas' fault that he's able to come here on a student visa. He's working with the framework that currently exists. The bottom line is as long as college athletes (foreign or otherwise) are still treated and classified as students then there's not really much that can be done. You might not consider them students but that doesn't make it true. And until something changes from an official/legal perspective there's no incentive for players or schools to change how they operate.
