I understand the "no news" on Liz but surprised it's been so quiet
I think we still get a 4 seed regardless. And I expect that if she is definitely out, it makes sense for VT to not say anything. So maybe I have answered my question. I keep checking news and hoping to hear that she is progressing and expected to play.

If she was playing, we would already know by now. Unfortunately
She is done. Feel really bad for her & team.

Yup. If there was even a small chance she could be back for NCAAT, they...
...would have shown a quick practice snippet of her playing or something, just to improve our odds of getting a top-4 seed. But since they haven't, it means she hasn't sniffed a return to the court.

ROTFLMFAO!! Sure, CKB wants possible opponents to know she's available?
Only CKB, staff and players know, and I assure you the practices are closed!! I'm not saying she will or won't play, but letting the women's basketball world know would be beyond dumb.

It's about letting the selection committee know she's available so our home
court seeding is secured.
The_Phew The_Phew
Securing home court with a top 4 seed is a billion times more important...
...than tricking our first round opponent in NCAAT with a 'surprise' ACC POTY. ** Edited by The_Phew at 3/17/2024, 3:34:44 PM

No news is bad news
If they were expecting her to play they would put out for everyone on the selection committee to see. In my eyes no news means she’s either not playing or questionable.

I think she tore her ACL. Had look of resignation when it happened
DGHOKIE DGHOKIE
I don’t think she would have been walking around if she had. But I’ve never
stayed in a Holiday Inn Express

Tore both of mine, and was able to walk after the initial pop pain subsided

VT had a player back in the early 2000’s
return kicks with a torn ACL.

We havent seen her since the ACCT so she may have had surgery as soon as it
ended. We won't see CKB again until tomorrow night's selection show. At that point, I think we'll hear that she's out for the tournament.

I have torn both of mine and after the initial pain I was able to walk fine
Just no stability to cut
VANESSAHOKIE VANESSAHOKIE
THought that at first but wouldn't she have had surgery by now if ACL?
If it was an ACL tear, would think she'd have ad the surgery quickly and by now. So maybe something not as serious but still bad enough she can't practice/play and they may not want to risk further injury before the WNBA draft.

Usually wait for swelling to go down .

I think that Liz is a person with more important things than the WNBA on
her horizon. She has a whole lot more ahead of her than that

Agreed. So does Georgia. I saw an interview where she said...
two interesting things: 1. Playing in the WNBA would be great to compete at the highest level, but it's not "the be all to end all" 2. She wants to use basketball to see the world - and, when asked to name a specific place she'd like to experience - first place that came to her was France.

I would love a if she played Euro ball

IMO, I sure hope so !!

We will hear from CKB after our selection
His thoughts We should know Liz’s status then and only then If he still says she’s working toward playing or trying to get back to play there’s a chance….otherwise IMO he will reveal if she’s out after the bracket release
DGHOKIE DGHOKIE
after selection it doesn't matter as much
hokiepro hokiepro
Exactly
DGHOKIE DGHOKIE
If she is at least practicing there is no disadvantage for him to say so.It
would insure the 4

Except teams preparing and planning to play against her.

regardless of Creme, nobody knows who or where they will play (unless the
Committee decides before the "reveal" and lets teams know ..... and I do

He knows her status. I suspect surgery already scheduled.

LOL! Thanks Doctor!!

Of course he knows her status by now
But we will hear from him after brackets

He's going to say she's working toward playing no matter what.
No sense in giving opponents an idea one way or another.
