I watched that whole board meeting. I’m not impressed.
Never mentioned GOR. Whined about other schools in league not pulling weight. Mentioned wanting to compete not play games. Said “unless revenue distribution changes, we have to leave”, without addressing their Grant of Rights until 2036.
Basically what I watched was a giant message board hissy fit by guys and gals in ties and suits.
They have no plan except “we gotta make more money & compete”.
By the way Weatherford, you were playing games and Brandon Flowers was competing. Just in case you’re wondering how that looks.

I remember him playing. Chris Rix playing, and Wyatt Sexton tripping on acid in the street, but no Weatherford glory. I was watching the whole time living in FLA, but missed it somehow.
Maybe he's living in the 90s before he played. Was he on that team that lost 40-0 in Tally?

Complaining about the revenue. Every conf has teams that need to be good and need to be relevant to make good TV which is what drives value. Not only have they not been good, they've been boring and uncompelling. Same in coral gables.

Maybe all this FSU noise is an intentional, timely and very public tactic to shake and make nervous the other ACC members who were not part of that gang of 7. Maybe if all 14 could and would want to act together, saying this GOR is crap, then they could find that elusive, legal loophole and get out of it. Maybe.

before you leap you should have a very good understanding of WHERE and HOW you plan to land. That applies to a new conference address or the GOR. Even though the current contract may not be great and significantly lags the BIG and the SEC, ACC members looking to get out would be wise to make SURE they can do better and, probably, significantly better.

The crap today seems to be saying the rumor was not true without acknowledging it was even out there. Seems that some troll made up a story, the usual suspects ran with it and a bunch of sites that repost whatever crap is out there like MSN spread it.

you are correct I believe but, my response was to the poster suggesting it was a tactic that could shake others to join the fight against the GOR and, my opinion, those schools need to keep in mind rule #1. Today was installment number 3 of the FSU Whine Road Show with February and just prior to the May league meetings being installments #1 and #2. The problem is at some point whining loses its effect if the parties being complained to really cannot give you what you want and unequal revenue sharing is not going to close the gap.

sharing is the way to go. Pretty sure before their moves USC/UCLA were asking for it, as were Texas/Oklahoma. Perhaps FSU thinks this is the thing you have to do first to try and get what you want.
Of course the length of the GoR is a much bigger factor in FSU's attempt

pretty much got whatever they asked for from the Big 12 and still left, so caving to demands will still only hold a school thinking they deserve more for only so long. USC/UCLA, particularly USC, allowed the PAC 12 problems to fester and grow in to the mortal wound it has become, so while they may have asked they really did nothing to be part of the solution. In USC's defense, they have a useless President and a string of failures in the AD chair that allowed one of collegiate sports' strongest brands to stumble. It is not that different from FSU where the Boosters and admins did battle for years while the brand suffered and they now have a new president and AD, at least one of whom, if not both are handpicked by the Boosters. We'll see how that works out in the coming times.

Don't forget though, their boss who lives down the street is in a multi year war of silliness with espns parent. So poking that mouse, who is having some financial distress is probably viewed as a positive. The other 6 may also be using them as their pot stirer.

there was really anything for them to deny. They are unhappy, they have, they are and they will probably continue, to explore their options. They cannot control media trolls looking for clickbait nor do they really need to deny these stories and open themselves up to more questioning. They have chosen a strategy to challenge with PR and make publicly known their displeasure. Others, likely unwittingly, coopted in to their ploy to grease the skids on unequal revenue sharing played along in May, however, they have all taken a quieter stance since, likely indicative of a lack of support, if not outright disapproval, of FSU's approach.

I suppose they could go indy but that doesn't solve their $$$ issues.

I have read many Warchant fantasies about "horse trading" and alleged behind the scene deals involving FSU, Clemson, even Notre Dame.
I have also read there that FSU has it all figured out on how it is going to finance their estimated payment of $350 million or so, somehow.
Then, there was Warchant discussion about The Dude of WVU commenting that FSU may be able to sue based upon fraud.
I have yet to hear a concrete, coherent way that FSU can get out from under the GOR.
They claim to be not worried about it at all, so there is that.......
