When I mow in the woodsy area, they jump and fly 2 feet. I accelerate. Mission accomplished.

Yes... invasives are generally bad. But they're here and I'm not seeing/hearing of any "destruction". The environment is resilient and almost always seems to sort it out without an awful lot of observable negative impacts long term.
Woody adelgid? Meh. Gypsy moth? No big deal. Zebra mussel? Whatever. Emerald ash borerer? Minor pain in the ash

Awful flyers too. They’re like shot-up warplanes landing on the deck of an aircraft carrier. I now just bat them out of the air with my hand as they enter my airspace.
