Eh...are they proving to be destructive?

Yes... invasives are generally bad. But they're here and I'm not seeing/hearing of any "destruction". The environment is resilient and almost always seems to sort it out without an awful lot of observable negative impacts long term. Woody adelgid? Meh. Gypsy moth? No big deal. Zebra mussel? Whatever. Emerald ash borerer? Minor pain in the ash
