highly subjective (aka by a poll), conferences may be highly motivated to try to game the system to ensure they receive their cut of the millions of dollars associated with the DI-FBS Playoffs. In the ACC's case, what happened to FSU last season may influence the ACC to be more motivated to make sure it doesn't happen again. Screw me once shame on you, screw me twice shame on me.

involve VT. Also, I am not as emotionally vested in VT as I was when I was a student. Even if VT was a blueblood in football or a member of a P2 conference, I doubt my opinion would change for various reasons. Maybe it is because I have gotten older or I realize there are a lot of things to occupy my time. It is also possible that I am tired of seeing college athletics try to straddle 2 worlds (pro vs. amateur) because they want to have their cake and eat it too. At this point, I am ready for the schools to pick a world and stick with it. Heck I don't even have a preference on which world VT picks because both have their pros and cons.

possible there may be some games that are rigged at some level (i.e. attempts are made to manipulate a call on the field). There is just too much money at stake for everyone involved to keep their hands clean all the time. Particularly if you are affiliated with a non-P2 conference where the deck is pretty much stacked against you every season. Also, I don't believe everyone affiliated with a conference's HQ is necessarily involved with the manipulation. Unfortunately, it may be extremely difficult for the leadership and other managers to truly keep tabs on all employees/contractors affiliated with a conference. Even if games are rigged or attempts are made to try to rig games, it is going to be extremely difficult to prove in a court of law. Heck look how few the examples are where players or teams were involved in a point shaving scandal. It is entirely possible that more people/programs were involved in point shaving, but there wasn't enough evidence to pursue it in court.

The guy they have in the replay booth is in Charolotte, so he isn't even in the stadium.

To take the outcome out of the hands of the refs. I hear what you’re saying, and the ACC and ESPN will want Miami since Florida State showed their true colors. But if it happens, we’d just have to win outright.

could play the perfect game (and I do me perfect) and still lose the game because the deck was stack against them.

The vast majority of refs are on the up and up. Take the replay for Miami against VT. I steadfastly believe they were wrong to over turn the Hokies touchdown. But I dont think someone at the ACC is fixing outcomes of games so Miami ends up in the playoff. The ACC champion will be in the 12-team playoffs.
But refs calls, good and bad are part of the game. You have to win, and do so in a way so a bad call doesn’t end up being the deciding factor.
I say that as a Hokie of 37-years and a Boston Red Sox, Celtics, Patriots and Bruins fan of 49-years. Lakers always get the call? Get Larry Bird. Yankees get the call, get David Ortiz. NFC wins the Super Bowl, get Tom Brady. Hokies wanna win, find another Michael Vick.

assume that the ACC champion will be in it every year. It is possible that the ACC champion is a team who wasn't ranked or ranked #20-25 going into the ACCG. It is even possible that the ACC champion isn't 1 of the 5 highest ranked conference champions to secure an automatic bid. If/When that happens, then the ACC's only path to the playoffs is 1 of the 7 at-large bids. If the ACC doesn't have a team ranked in the top 7 at-large spots, then it won't have a team participating in the DI-FBS Playoffs.
You use the Red Sox, Celtics, Patriots, and Bruins as examples that a team won't get all the calls. Please show me an example where any of the teams you mentioned experienced the exact same thing as what FSU experienced last year. You can't because the playoff structure for all the pro leagues are objective and not subjective like you see with the DI-FBS Playoffs.

Look it up. Florida States misfortune was to bad last year because it was a four team playoff and without their QB, they weren’t a top four team.
Certainly with a 12-team playoff, the ACC or Big 12 could be left out. But the ACC is far more than just Miami.
Clemson probably is the best overall team. Southern Methodist is rolling. Pitt is strong. Sure the P2 is trying to suck all of the oxygen out of the room. But any of five teams could represent the ACC in the playoff.
Heck, Miami for all their pre-ACC history has never won and ACC championship. So I wouldn’t stress over the canes.

because the schools decided they would rather have a subjective system instead of an objective one. A subjective system opens the door to corruption potentially creeping into the process. I don't think it is just the P2, because I believe all conferences play a role in helping to make this bed. If you look at the selection process for DI-FBS, DI-FCS, DII, and DIII Playoffs, then you will see that the DI-FCS may be the most objective playoff. It is the only playoff that gives an automatic bid to all conferences interested in participating in the playoffs.
The schools have made their bed and now they can lay in it. Some schools will always benefit from it and other schools will be more likely to get screwed in the process for one reason or another. The same is true for the conferences. IIWII at this point in time.

ONE less bow-wow coaching decision per game and we're sitting pretty at undefeated.
Making bow wow coaching decisions is correctable in short order.
Bring in a advisor to fix these, for instance.
Go Hokies.

Duke and uva. That’s 3 and I also think that GT is a toss up. Of course we can lose them all, but realistically I think we could be anywhere from 6-6 to 8-4, with Clemson a definite loss and all of the rest possible to win.

That’s tough to read but 100% true.
The 1-11 in one score games is also worth mentioning here - tough to read but true.
Yes, we are 14 points from being “6-0” and solidly in the Top-10. But, we aren’t.
Pry is now “13-17” and getting to 6 wins will be a struggle. Hard to read but true (at this moment).
Record(s) of Teams we beat: “6-9”
Record(s) of Teams we lost to: “10-4”
