Posting History (95)

it's about the attitude from the team leaders; the coaches and players...

...there is no question about it, UVa. has had some teams in recent years that could compete with Tech, but....UVa. did not play with the same level of intensity and 'tude that Tech has. We gift-wrapped Tech a win in 2018.

i think your team beats Miami today...I jus have a feeling...how? I dont

know...but with the Franklin hiring, it will inject some new life and energy into the team...and Lane will be rocking....sometimes crazy stuff happens in games that gives the underdog momentum....good luck.

I knew Franklin would be your coach....great, great hire, Hokie nation.

he will recruit well in the mid-atlantic and tidewater area...bet on it. I truly believe you all are in for a great era under Franklin.

reality has set in....the real UVa has (finally) shown up....get your boys

ready for another Hokie win at Lane north (as you like to call it)...because even with our starting QB, we are struggling right now scoring the football and doesn't appear to be getting any better.

UVa. is expecting near 60k vs Wake tonight....maybe Scott Stadium will be

as half as loud as Lane is. I joke....but, seriously, this is a new world we are in...so not used to this. I just hope this surprising success is somewhat sustainable....at lease for a few more years. Maybe, just maybe, we have a good coach/ leader....he is truly getting every ounce of that squeeze out of this team this season. ** Edited by Cavalier Crusader at 11/8/2025, 10:51:53 AM

somehow, someway...your team will get win no. 5 before playing UVa....and

we all know how this will go....your team will come into Cville and beat our ass bad.....to get win 6. It's just how it goes in this so-called rivalry....it's as natural as deer running along the side of a creek through the valley on a crisp fall morning....an annual natural occurrence.

your fan base (alone) matters...it will tell any coach who is interested

that your fans care and are passionate....you will find the right man, based on your culture and passion alone...I believe that.

I heard no a radio show that Franklin will be grossing $22k a DAY for the

next 6 years....amazing. I am sure he is mentally drained from all of the pressures of winning and the rumors of his job security....but Penn State had to move on from Franklin and this buyout is a win-win for both sides....Franklin had an overall win % of 70%, but....was 6-6 in post season games, with just one Big Ten title, and one playoff appearance...he was a combined 4-17 vs. his biggest Big Ten foes (Ohio State and Michigan)....and that was a big problem. I am sure he now feels that he has the weight of the world off of his shoulders and he can recalibrate his life and pursue other worthwhile things. he has nothing to feel ashamed about; he "won" at Penn State, but not win at their standards.

oh you will.....your team always steps up when doubted....and let me say

this....you guys OWN us and if we do not match or exceed your team's intensity, you guys will win at Scott. I hope I am wrong but....your team approach this game way different that UVa.

you are absolutely right....and that is what I admire about Tech...football

matters a lot and regardless of the amount of money UVa. spends to recruit players, I question how sustainable it will be, because there is not the same level of passion for football at UVa. as there is at Tech....and anyone hoo disputes this is crazy.

we are simply cursed vs. your program....for reasons I can't explain, we

play scared vs. your team each f'ing year....and I hope that changes in November. I wouldnt put money on it....we gotta play with the same level of intensity as your players do when they play UVa. I salute your program for having that refuse to lose attitude when you play UVa.

Shane Beamer? This would be a no-brainer....the dude bleeds orange and

maroon...and would do everything humanly possible to get Tech back to prominence.

it's truly a win-win for these coaches....if you are successful, more money

, more prestige, more opportunities...and if you lose, you walk away with a fat departure check.

Luke Fickell, Jimbo Fisher, Urban Meyer, Matt Campbell, or Jon Sumrall as

possible head coach candidates? No rumors...just some names that have come to my mind.

Maybe we will be able to keep the game vs. your squad close by 4th qtr

.....I am hearing UVa. is doing well in the portal....which is great....but....you can have all the talent in the world but it doesnt matter if you play scared on the field. And that's the main issue with UVa...your squad (most times than not) "intimidate" the UVa. players. UVa. has only three wins over your program since 1998. That's absolutely ridiculous...and the current UVa. leadership is okay with this...SMFH.

your fans, the Roanoke/ New River Valley and alums would not allow that to

happen....so dont worry about that. You see....football matters to Tech....in a big F'ing way....and that (alone) will keep your program to be no less than mediocre.

Hokies, let me say this....

.....you expect your program to be elite, great (not good) and dominant. I do not blame you one bit. You all were on top of the college football world in 1999 and even I celebrated with you, because I am also a Virginia native. At that time, we (UVa.) was just one year removed from defeating you (in 1998) in an amazing comeback victory at Lane. Anyway, I just want to be clear: UVa's football program is a f'ing mess....they continue to hire coaches who simply don't have the dedication, passion or will to prepare our players to compete with your school in football. This is just a fact. I am an older guy and, truth be told, I may not live long enough to witness UVa. ever defeating your Hokies at Lane Stadium again....or even at Scott Stadium for that matter. But Lane is definitely UVa's "kryptonite" in football and we have no answer to it...none, zero. So, those of you who worry about losing to UVa. (especially when the game is at Lane)....please stop. Your program is definitely in our program's head and is living there rent free; eating the food, drinking the beer, with your feet up on the coffee table, watching cable tv. It's truly a shame how UVa. has approached this game over the last 20 years....in all honesty, UVa. should forfeit playing Tech until they (UVa.) decide to approach this game with same level of energy, passion, intensity and fire as your program does. Your program may not be having the kind of success you'd like or expect, but....your team (regardless of who is coaching or on your roster), refuses to lose to UVa. and that's to be admired. ** Edited by Cavalier Crusader at 12/2/2024, 3:18:17 PM

At least you hav one guaranteed win left on your schedule.... heck, you can

play your backups and still beat us. We should just forfeit this game , because my guys don't give a rip about this game.

On Sept. 1, I posted this message and predicted a 8-4 W/L record...

....and based on your remaining games, I think you will finish 8-4...with the only loss to Clemson. See link:
