I am thinking about asking a Penn State friend if he wants to see the Penn
State players and coaches play...................in Blacksburg.
But in all fairness, Penn State will be fine, they may have a rebuilding year, but with a good tradition and a good conference thye will be fine.

Want to see what Franklin can do this year, though I have no set expectations. Rather I am interested in seeing improvement each year.

So what are the political goals here?
ROC has been involved with the administration at VT. I care about athletics, but I care at least as much that the College of Engineering maintains its ranking well within the top 20. I wasn't particularly a fan of Sands, but he did get the deal with Amazon done and improved our research standing. I do not have a lot of faith in this Governor, and I think she needs to explain this move and what her vision is for Virginia Tech.

I like the athletics too
but the president sets the tone for the entire university. Some of the academic programs are among the nation's best and we have always done cutting edge research in a lot of areas. I don't just want excellent athletics, I want excellence in all areas.

I had a lot of sympathy for ND being passed over,
But all of the whining, opting out of a bowl game, and all of that. This is not as bad as what happened to FSU a couple of years ago.

My take is different.
I think Vandy made the adjustments they needed on offense and defense, while we stuck with our starting scheme throughout. Vandy adjusted their offence after the first quarter and adjusted their defense at halftime. Even though Vandy's offense started to have limited success in the second quarter, and we did nothing to take that away. And in the second half their defense adjustments meant out only first down was from a penalty.

Hurbert and Tutin both had pop. So did Evans. We were good in 1990 and 2000 not just because MV1 had pop, but because we had all of the pieces. We had the complete package on defense. We had riches at running back. We had a great O-line. We had decent receivers. We had exceptional special teams. We also had Ricky Bustle and Bud Foster, two of the best coordinators we ever had. MV-1 had amazing talent, but without the other pieces, the pop would have been fizzle. We have some of the pieces, but not nearly as many as we had in 1999-2000, if we did, I think Drones would be your MV-3.

The problem is simple, too many people
See college football as a farm league for the NFL, so it needs to be exactly like the NFL. So we have transfer portals to mimic free agency, expanded playoffs, and NIL for the big contracts. We have to make College Football just like the NFL! Kind of like minor league baseball. When was the last time anyone paid attention to who was champion in minor league baseball?

I am actually OK with Bowen, but Marve.
We have a fantastic defensive front four, really good DB's, and good position coaches, but we can not get off the field when we need to. Also when the other team's offense finds something to exploit, it seems to take our defense forever to adjust and take it away. Marve needs to sit down with Bud Foster, break down some film, and see how Foster would make in game adjustments. Same thing with how Foster schemed an offense.

Felton had possession of the ball, was on the ground and in bounds
On the ground means play over. In the jumbled confusion I could see on the field refs calling either the play either way, but I can not see the replay officials ruling.

We had a group of Canadian First Responders a few years ago.

For me, my favorite things about spring game is
Getting back in Blacksburg on beautiful spring day, getting into Lane Stadium, and getting to see the friends I tailgate with again.

Lindsy Butler and Neil Gurley both T&F National Champions,
Both majored in Engineering at VT. John Hilbrandt 2nd string BB center in 1980, 3.5 in Chem Engineering. Sports and academics are not incompatible.
