For sure, he was lauded as the next up and comer
turns out that he ran into the portal and the job got bigger than his skill set...it happens in all jobs- all industries, change limits everyone eventually.

He was a status quo coach…he didn’t adapt to the portal & Covid situations
We also learned Hokie Nation as a whole doesn’t like an introvert

Then again, I prefer to see an AD give a coach 2-3 years first before having any discussions about contract extensions. If the coach leaves for another school, then so be it and move on to the next coach.
