can get this time. The team is 1990ish but the VT brand is much better than back then so the hill might not be as steep. But if it is, I'm fine with that too. Let's just get back to the blue collar physical team that none of the blue bloods want any part of. We do that, and I'm a happy fan.

Men's and Women's basketball is great!
Baseball and Softball is great!
Wrestling is great!
And it's all on MASN or ACCN!!
So there's stuff to watch all year. Not just in the fall. July and August is all we have to wait through.
For football, I'm resigned to the fact that we're hoping for a .500 season.
So win 3 of the first 4, 3 of the last 4 and lose the rest and I'll be happy with that.
Not a lot to get excited about.

We’ve got 3-star FU talent to run Pry’s system. There will be some bright spots, but overall, we’re 6-6 until we get a top tier QB. I’ll limit my expectations until 2025, at which point college football will look completely different

given we are rebuilding and we have not yet leveraged the portal to the degree that I hoped. Recruiting has not improved that much over Fu's haul in general so far. We are lacking talent is the bottom line.Pry is doing and saying the right things from a cultural standpoint but the jury will be out for a few years. If we go 6-6 and a bowl I will consider that successful for the first year. However, that might take winning a game or two that we are not expected to. All the other noise including NIL and conference realignment will not mean much if we do not show much improvement in the next 2-3 years.

There is truth in your post; however, that does not prevent a person from feeling a sense of excitement to see what this team might be able to accomplish and experience a new set of coaches with different schemes and different approaches.
Let's not squelch those that are excited.

I was at 10 pre-Fuente firing (took wayyyyy too long to happen). I have been a Hokie fan since '88. I give it a 30 because our talent level has decreased so much. I love my Tech teams but this slow decline from the Fuente era has sapped my expectations.
