VT scored first, went down 3-1, came back 4-3, on and on to a 10-10 tie with about 7 minutes left. I just got back home to PA from Europe and drove down yesterday and thought I would bring good karma to the team. I just felt it would happen. Alas, depth of the team came to light. I've seen him play and a 40-yard pass dropping into the receiver's hands is normal for him. He runs well too. As he is a local boy I am interested in where he ends up. 15 years ago. There was no NIL, there was not cost of attending, there was recruiting. Finding the diamond in the rough. Today there is sooo much film and scouting on players you won't find an Antonio Freeman that isn't getting mega bucks. There was finding good recruits that you could coach up. There were Primadona's that wanted to play NOW, but most worked hard and waited it out. Frank back in '88 needed better coaches and with the money for them they went from 3-8 to 6-4-1. Last year Tech was 6-6 (not counting bowl game as hardly any starters played). I think there is an improvement in coaching from last year, but I'm not sure we have improvement in players (at this time). I'm thinking a 7-5 might show better coaching with C+ to B- players. If freshman class stays, works and doesn't transfer after being on campus for 2 days, then I think they can coach up next year to 8-4 or 9-3. BUT without major $$$$ NIL I don't see ever getting to 5 years of 11-win like 15 years ago. GO HOKIES!!! I was able to make the game, Peyton had a great pass about 50 yards in the air to the 2 yd line. A TD was quickly scored followed by a bad snap of which the holder quickly ran in for 2 points. This was around 1:55 left in the half. Nazareth kicked off and held BeCa on a 3 and out. A bad punt put the ball around the BeCa 35 and Nazareth squeaked in another TD with no time remaining. Mid-way in the 3rd quarter they pulled Peyton after he drove the team down to around the opposing 25 yd line. Unfortunately, fumbles and other errors no further scoring was accomplished. This was the second game in a row where Peyton and a good portion of the starters were pulled after putting up a 36+ points in the first half. I noticed that Peyton had good protection, he also can get the ball downfield over 50 yds in the air (he overthrew one WR by about 2-3 yds and one was off the fingertips). He didn't run much in this game, but in an earlier game I saw he reeled off a 40+ yard and though looking thin and lanky, he had moves and didn't appear like a long-legged stork running downfield. I was also impressed with Newsome on a few plays. I am not an expert by any means, but if Peyton is getting good protection, could one of the linemen be worth investing. Just a thought. I sat in my seat on the 40 for first quarter ONLY, it was hot, no clouds and I applied 8 oz of SPF 50. I felt like a baked potato. I got up and went into the shade in overhang between the two decks. There hundreds of Hokies and Cardinal watching here. It might not have been 50k the capacity, but it wasn't the 8k that it seemed to have shown on TV. I got to my seat about 10 minutes before KO, and there were many more filing in. I think they preferred the shade at the tailgate. I will admit that on TV it must've looked like a Div III game with a few students and a parent or two. I would recommend other Hokies coming out to a game here. "They say" it was unusual weather for October and it should've been around 70-ish instead of the mid-90's. There are nice restaurants on a closed - California Ave; French, Cuban, Thai, Indian, Pakistani and others. But bring a Credit Card as I will admit, it isn't cheap but it is good. The magret de canard and oysters as the appetizer was very good and you can't go wrong with mouse au chacolat for desert. Good win HOKIES!!!

Though he had a tough go vs Freedom (6-0 and home of Brailen & Kaden Moore) and Parkland (5-1 if I remember correctly) where I don't think he broke 200 in passing and less than 50 yds rushing. In his 3 wins I think he is doing about 250+ yds passing and 80+ yds or more rushing.

First, I bought a single ticket from Stanford University booking site and I'll be on the VT side of the Field around the 40-yard line. I don't have any stats on the game and the team had two close losses after two dominate wins. This was a nice rebound game after a loss to Freedom HS (Braelin & Kaden Moore's HS).
