Really like this pickup, 21 year old kid with years of pro experience
I’ll take guys playing against grown men over high school grads every day

It just occurred to me we can recruit pro players from overseas
I mean, these college players are all professional basketball players now since they’re getting paid, so why not? Taken a step further, what’s stopping us from recruiting NBA players? At least those who are current free agents?

Dorn was not getting paid in Germany...
Most professional leagues overseas have amateur spots where they aren't paid or are comped for housing but play against professionals. You do not typically see any players who are on the payroll coming to play college basketball

But now that we're paying college BB players...lol

Big sigh incoming...
But it would still tank eligibility to sign any player who had a professional contract overseas They would have to pay back anything they earned and even then you'd sit out X number of games IF it was approved. A double standard it seems, yes. But they've actually enforced that one even recently

Simple solution: sue the NCAA. That's a sure win over those losers...lol

I'm all about it

Eligibility would be what's stopping that in most cases
Most are outside their NCAA eligibility window. Now if the lawsuits challenging eligibility rules that seem to be coming succeed...

Lebron never played in college so should have some eligibility

4 years of eligibility...and he can sue for 4+ more.

There are rumblings…
That the NCAA is discussing a new model where International players are concerned. Instead of ferreting out eligibility by tracking all the teams, schools, etc that these International players have attended and played previously, the NCAA is looking at determining how many years of eligibility based on the age of the International players. That is the rumor. Of course that opens up other issues because in the U.S. there are athletes that leave on Mormon missions for instance and then return a couple years later. We also have scores of guys who reclassify in high school and then switch schools and sometimes reclassify again. Then go to prep school for a year. NCAA doesn’t seem to care about those instances and the age thing so we shall see if this rumor pans out. There are many college athletes in basketball in the U.S. that arrive as 21 year old freshmen, because of the prep school and reclass years.

Maybe I’m wrong, but didn’t a 7 ft C just transfer from VT?

Watch his highlights. I like this pickup

I did. Of course they’re highlights and not lowlights
In those highlights He moves a lot better than Wessler and seems like a more fluid basketball player. He is older too I saw and with bigs that helps. I’m sure the coaches feel he’s an upgrade ** Edited by millmtnhokie at 4/26/2025, 10:38:13 AM

Don’t know if he so much moves better as he knows what to do
once he has the ball. He doesn’t fiddle around like Wessler. He catches and makes his move decisively.

He’s more athletic, no way Wessler is doing pull-ups after dunking like him

This gives me hope!

I too, saw the small mail in my newsfeed that he commit
They talk about a second division or something like that, he didn’t look like a skinny little beanpole like our last failed center. I’m kind of excited what I’m hoping to find out is how much eligibility does he have he’s 22 years old it said so I don’t know what his transfer status is or if he’s gonna allow to have the full four years, didn’t say but it’s desperate for news as I am. I’ll probably spend the whole day waiting for something to pop up lol

Anyone with enough information knowledge to know how good this 7 footer can
Be? Seems like upgrade over Wessler at a minimum bulk physicality. Does he ever shoot the 3?
YBYSAIAHokie YBYSAIAHokie
Stats above. Shot almost 70% FG, 40% from 3, 75% from foul line
