Aside from being of the opinion that Henson is gonna win his first of many conference championships next week, he could go 0-2 and would still be a shoo-in for an at large.

Only four at-large bids at HWT and especially 125 concern me. Eddie will likely need to beat Wagner (UNC) again to earn a qualifier. Cat will need to beat Niesenbaum in the semis or Slinger in the 3rd place match to earn an automatic. Assuming Connor handles Mazzara in the first and loses to Heller in the semis, he will have to beat Singleton or McCoy to grab a qualifier. Nine wrestlers qualifying looks really good. His new, but looks like the old, problem is he gets ahead and then turtles. Tries to hang on, then runs out of gas. At least he looks better in the 1st period this year instead of waiting for something to happen. He needs to keep the peddle down and develop better conditioning to do that for three periods. If he resolves this he could surprise a lot of folks. But I am pessimistically hopeful for this to all come together before he runs out of eligibility.

Doesn't appear he's cutting a lot of weight. And it's just hard to imagine anyone regularly practicing with Lewis and Andonian would be sucking wind when pitted against mere mortals. But my lying eyes are seeing the same things yours are. He's an enigma. Last year, he wrestled tough at nationals. Maybe he likes the brighter lights. I'll be rooting for him. I'm hoping he's getting meaner right now.

Is he beat Carter Starocci in highschool. Let that sink in.

Oh yea, wins like that definitely instill well earned confidence and raise expectations. Of course, adding up his avoidable losses certainly does the opposite. / When Brady got smashed by O'Connor a year or so ago, it seemed to totally wreck his confidence. That night, I thought Brady looked ready to brawl when he walked on the mat, but his confidence -- and his spirit to fight -- left him before the match ended. I don't think those weapons made an appearance again until nationals. He started this season looking promisingly aggressive, but he's now again consistently handing over pending victories. Giving his intensity and attacks a vacation after the first period does not appear to promise him success any time soon. / I think it was Troy Steiner who said something like, "If he's going to beat me, I'm going to make him go through hell first." Latona, Henson, and Bolen (when he's at his best) display that attitude. Brady has the tools. At this point, it wouldn't hurt him to take the halter off and turn himself loose. I know all of us would love to see him win ACCs.

He got ridden out last time, but if he can get a takedown in the first, that stops being as viable of a strategy for Heller

I am a little shocked at 4@149 and 3@165. I was worried there would be only 1@125 and frankly we got lucky at 165. The path to 10 just got a easier and very doable.

But better to not put yourself in that position then

Obviously we've got to perform elsewhere too, specifically 125 in my mind, but 9 looks likely, and 10 might be more likely than 8.

A couple other weight got 3 spots.

There are extra at large also. My guess that Eddie earned a bid. Maybe Brady too. But you’re right both Eddie and Brady have to beat guys they can beat to get a bid. They both could earn an at large also

or if he takes the redshirt and they enter Fields. During the UNC/State dual they mentioned Pop and Singleton would discuss but (they said) Pop would ultimately leave it up to Singleton. Look like: If Singleton goes - he is 3 seed and Brady the 4 seed. If Fields goes - Brady is the 3 seed and Fields will be 5th (a win over the Duke 165).
