Yeah, there may be additional restrictions on older international players.
So could still be right on total eligibility.
The age limitation came up with wrestling super-recruit Bo Bassett, who is older than the average HS student. My understanding is that he's getting five years of eligibility because he's coming this year but might have only gotten four if the age limitation wasn't deferred until 2027.

@David Cunningham I think you're wrong about her eligibility?
In the article you linked, the age-based rules don't kick in as mandatory until next year. Her category should be:
Prospects who initially enroll full time at any college or university during 2026-27.
Either the previous rules OR the new age-based model, whichever is most beneficial to the student-athlete.
I think this means she can get four years under the old rules, unless there was already something in place in those rules that limited her eligibility.

Interesting that they returned in a jet after leaving BCB in a prop plane.
The charters I've flown on from/to BCB were all in prop planes like the one they took to Baton Rouge. For those flights, we were warned to plan for the possibility of having to fly out of ROA instead of BCB, but my understanding is that fallback was only in the event of bad weather.
I guess that even if they could safely land the jet at BCB, they'd still have to safely fly it back out to its next destination.

Didn't realize just how hard we were shut down on Sunday until reading...
... Sam's article:
"she carved through Virginia Techâs lineup, retiring the last 16 batters she faced while her offense obtained runs"
I knew it was bad, but our last base runner was indeed Addison Foster on her RBI single to put us up 2-0 in the bottom of the 2nd. Even with the good two-run start, that doesn't leave a lot of margin for our pitchers.

The umpire announced that the call was confirmed, not "stands".
I am still convinced that Rachel was out. The Akron player was needlessly positioned to be able to apply the tag, but the first replay they showed on ESPN+ showed her foot touching the side of the base when the ball arrived. The first screenshot below in this thread was from before it mattered and the second one near where it did matter doesn't show any separation.

That was after avoiding a run-rule loss in the 6th w/bases loaded & 0 out.
Layton struck out the side to avoid disaster. If Akron hit a double in three tries, there might not have been a 7th inning for us to rally.

Coaches can only go to the mound once per pitcher per inning.
If they went out once earlier in the 7th, they'd have to pull the pitcher on the second visit.

She was already infected in the LSU game before getting pulled.
Had several four- or five-pitch walks near the end.

Think they get a walk-off if she slides for the front corner of the plate.
Instead, she goes wide and reaches for the base on the way through. She was even with the plate when the tag was applied.

Yes, this plane looks similar to the charters we've used for wrestling.
Those planes have crazy amounts of leg room. Flying out of Blacksburg is extremely convenient - 10 minute ride to the airport, almost no hassle once you arrive (they check your ID and that's about it), and then a direct flight to the destination. Same story for the return flights.

@WestEndHokie39 is noting that we did visit the mound...
... after the second FSU run in the inning on the passed ball. Mazz was still having control issues after that, which I assume was the reason for your post. But teams only get one "free" mound visit per half inning. If Josh or Pete had come out again after the four-pitch walk, they would have had to replace the pitcher.

In fact, that is exactly what got us to the CWS in 2008.
Knoxville Region:
VT 1, Loserville 0 (10 innings) Winning pitcher: A. Tincher, complete game.
VT 4, Tennessee 0. Winning pitcher: A. Tincher, complete game.
Tennessee 7, VT 1. Losing pitcher: A. Tincher, pitched 1.1 innings, gave up 4 ER.
VT 4, Tennessee 2. Winning pitcher: A. Tincher, complete game.
Ann Arbor Super-Regional:
Michigan 1, VT 0. Losing pitcher: A. Tincher, complete game (6 innings)
VT 1, Michigan 0. Winning pitcher: A. Tincher, complete game.
VT 6, Michigan 1. Winning pitcher: A. Tincher, complete game.
College World Series:
Texas A&M 1, VT 0. Losing pitcher: A. Tincher, complete game (6 innings)
Florida 2, VT 0 (9 innings). Losing pitcher: A. Tincher, complete game.

I think @Raleigh Hokie's guess is the likely explanation.
The live stats shows us substituting for Nora twice, which is not legal. But the existence of the DP position allows for more shenanigans.

It's a good thing UVA made a futile attempt at throwing Foster out.
There was no way they were going to stop the triple, even with a perfect throw. Given the subsequent at bats, the inning probably ends 0-0.
