Is TAMU running to the B1G? (link)
How real is this? Just seems too knee jerk to be true.

It seems unlikely, but I’d bet the A&M faculty would agree. The Aggies would get all the kids in Texas that did not want to play in the SEC, and it’s a research U in the mold of the B1G model. And how about NOT playing in the SEC West?
If I were the prez of Texas A&M I’d definitely make this move.

between the B1G and Nebraska since Covid. Lugar did something on it about 10 days ago. Nebraska losing the Oklahoma game was a huge loss for them. A lot of kids outside of Nebraska, particularly in California went there to play in that game. The old timers remember when it was as big or sometimes bigger than Auburn Alabama or Ohio State Michigan. The winner often played for the National Championship. Nebraska used running QB’s that other schools wanted to move to another position. Sound familiar Hokies!?!?
PS After Tech played Nebraska in the Orange Bowl, some will remember Dr. Tom Osborne inviting the whole staff to Nebraska, and teaching Frank and staff how to build depth with red shirts…amongst other things.

I know everyone says "oh they get more money" so that means everything, but has their football program truly benefitted? What about Maryland? Rutgers? Maryland and Rutgers haven't really done better or worse but Nebraska has gone way downhill since.
Has aTm's football program gotten better since moving to the SEC? Will UCLA all of a sudden be a top 5 program now that they get to play against Northwestern? I wonder if anyone has done a true analysis to determine have these programs really benefitted from their moves from their long-time regional conferences to the P2. So far I haven't seen much of anything but I am just a casual observer.

their football recruiting base when they were successful, was most defiantly local with the States they touch, and down to Texas. They lost the recruiting domination in the fly over States, and have not recruited well against the Big 10 teams to the East.
We will see with the new additions, and California, but I don't think that helps Nebraska very much. I'd be shocked in A&M left, and Nebraska went back to a conference with Texas, but things are already upside down. At this point, it's all click bait, right up to the point that it's not.

sense is to the B12, but that's definitely a non-starter. SEC would offer no more money--likely less, and wouldn't help them with recruiting at all. They'd also get less TV time since the SEC is locked in to only ABC/ESPN. They'd be stupid to make that move.

not a good sign, especially when there have been numerous of them. As far as isolated they would play some of the Big 12 schools like Oklahoma, Missouri, and Texas, sorry I can't agree with that one. They also have a huge fan following, they won't have a problem getting fans or ratings playing SEC schools, in fact I think it would be better than the B1G.
Still probably won't happen, but culturally their fan following and school is a very good fit for the SEC IMHO. If Virginia Tech went to the SEC, I would love to play them. The fan bases got along great!

click bait, so what the heck.
How about this - FSU and Clemson get out of the ACC, but there is no offer from the P2 until their contracts expire. They then could park in the B12, and then there would be leverage to get A&M and Nebraska back. Wonder what the media companies would pat for a conference like that?
How is that for a click bait scenario?

aTm, along with almost every conference member that's ever been associated with Big TX, has wanted to get away from Big TX. Really feel the SEC screwed them by adding Big TX, thus this rumor feels like it could be possible.
Off the top of my head, conference members who have run to other conferences to escape Big TX:
Nebraska
Colorado
Mizzou & aTm
Oklahoma is the ONLY school who seems OK with Big TX. Puzzling...
But I would bet every school who has ever been in a conference with Big TX has wanted to escape. It would be funny if aTm is the first, but not the last SEC school who jumps to the B1X...lol. That's what happens when you bring in a cancer.

you listed? They haven't done diddly since they "ran from Texas". OK hasn't "run from Texas" - would you all say that OK has been a better football program over the past decade than Colorado, Mizzou, aTm, Nebraska? I would say yes. I guess I am missing something, but this whole running from Texas doesn't seem to really make sense to me. CFB is big enough to coexist with Texas, yes? Sounds like a bunch of whiners who give a BS excuse for not being competitive. It's not so puzzling to me - OK has run their football program better than those other schools - bottom line. It's not about what Texas does, it's what they do with themselves. Call me obtuse and simple but that's what I see with my untrained eye.

...of the pie than their B12 conference mates. Uneven revenue sharing, and it wasn't done based on keeping one's bowl revenue. They got their cut off the top. They were already the richest football program in the country, but that wasn't enough. They wanted more, and their B12 conference mates had to cough up more money for their pampered butts.

have done anything for those football programs for whatever reason. Maybe moving to an alien football conference just for more money and killing rivalries that everyone loves isn't such a great move

It would open up another SEC spot and increases Tech's chances...
since the Big 10 is very unlikely to invite Tech. That spot could also easily be given to FSU but would probbaly be bad news for Clemson to the SEC.
