Might as well grab Liberty and their 94,000 students and invite while we are at it. Their facilities are as nice as most schools in the ACC. They would be a close rival that would be easy to hate. Seriously, like WVU they would fill up the stadium and they are in the Commonwealth. They have a ton of money as well and would probably work a deal like SMU and take no money for a few years. I am joking, but when you think about it, what exactly are we looking for in an expansion candidate.

They love athletics and have the money. Could be a thorn in the side, but they are working their way up.

Liberty would surely be a competitive nemesis to the Hogs. The Razorbacks got Hugh Freeze the old Liberty head coach back in the SEC. Of course Freeze had the credentials of being an old Arkansas State coach, an Auburn must these days, their last three head football coaches previously coached at Arkansas State. Freeze getting fired at Ole Miss due to getting them hand slapped by the NCAA also didn't bother Auburn a bit. Cheating is now legal and Freeze could have always cheated at Auburn anyway.
Of course I was upset about the Liberty home loss in Fayetteville. I got on YouTube Razorback boards declaring how Pittman was Bielema reincarnated now with home losses to G5 schools now getting back to normal. Saying he team obviously quitting on Pittman just like with Bielema. I was not alone in Razorback fandome expressing that exact sentiment. However those comments got removed by the moderators. You cannot publicly bash a Razorback coach anymore until it is a large majority thing. Arkansas & Texas A&M had far more football players enter that transfer portal than any other SEC Schools. Pittman got a lot from the portal and hired a lot of new black assistant coaches. Are the problems cured? I doubt it but we shall see. Those coaches drawing $7 MM yearly and are now above being bashed. Just like the politicians.

Evangelical Notre Dame. So you can think of them as the poor man's Notre Dame. And the ACC's kind of poor right now. Honestly, I think our better move would be to shrink the conference instead of growing the conference right now. That's the only way I see to improve per school payouts

K-State would be a better fit for VT, for the same reasons - but KU has the KC market hands down - and that includes Missouri, so they could be a sleeper for the ACCN. Baylor plays above itself, but all of the B12 filled their stadiums except KU in football. TT and ISU are extremely passionate, but are second and 4th? in their respective States.
The 4 newbies and 4 PAC you already know about.
It would be tough to get KU without K-State unless you are the BIG or SEC.
Either way, college athletics need both the B12 and ACC to be strong conferences, and we all know that any school from either conference would take the call from the Big 10 and SEC - but the New16 has been picked over already - you guys have not.

And a very large % of that population is on reservations. Oklahoma, the University, is a blue blood brand with history, and national recognition. OSU is a VERY good school, and a very good program, but like K-State, they lack the brand.
Remember, it's not how good you are, it's what you bring to the party. Selling out and having a passionate fan base apparently is not enough to be in the P2, but it's definitely good enough to get a media deal that puts you on the playing field.
The rest is up to OSU, the coaches, and the players. No different than VT.

So, probably 3-4 years before people start announcing plans to leave. Doubt anyone would want to leave the Big12 with possiblity they need to go crawling back 4 years later.

They are both relatively new to football, but are large Texas state schools. Adding another Dome team would be interesting with the Alamo Dome. They both have poor academics though. The ACC would have to overlook that.

The ACC is still trying to be another Ivy League Conference. I know, Lewisville, but that’s only because FSU and Clemson were threatening to go to the B12 and you guys got the B12 spot before they got it.

Not that that's really even possible...the Ivy League is unique in that those schools were the Ivies for academic reasons before the athletics league was created.
The ACC exists for athletics. Trying to make it about academics is at best ineffective and at worst counter-productive. (meaning the ACC "trying," not you or any other of us message board jockeys)
