Except Arkansas Post, that is down where the Arkansas River empties into the Mississippi River if I remember right. Arkansas Post was once the Capitol location for Arkansas until moved to Little Rock due to wanting the more centralized location. Played on the Arkansas River as a kid growing up in the extreme eastern part of North Little Rock. Until a friend was nearly killed when sand caved in on a big hole they were digging. The Corp of Engineers ran us off after that with chauffeured visits to our parents. I knew I wanted that man visiting my father just the one time. I was going all over that Buffalo River to Bull Shoals area of north central Arkansas just a few months back.I was looking for property to buy. A lot of mountain side stuff with roads a mountain goat would have trouble navigating. I thought I might have damaged my truck bottom on one of them. It made a thundering loud screeching noise. I was looking for some flat acreage with a decent house. That type property has went through the roof up there over the last few years. I was talking to people on neighboring properties at several locations. They said they came from Minnesota & Wisconsin. I know the Hot Springs area well. My father and his brother had speed boats when I was a kid. My whole side of the family on the Father's side would gather in cabins on Lake Hamilton at least 4 or 5 weekends every summer. Great memories of that.

Heupel was the QB for Oklahoma when they won their last natty in 2000. Tennessee had been real lousy many years since Phillip Fulmer was fired but not anymore.

Arkansas helped Freeze out by losing to Liberty in Fayetteville. Arkansas has just been great about helping out on the resumes of coaches at the G5 & FCS level over the last decade. Freeze brought scandal accompanied by NCAA probation to Ole Miss before Liberty rescued him. That didn't deter Auburn when Liberty knocked off Arkansas. Another 30 minute performance by Arkansas yesterday in Stillwater. Looking great in the 1st half until the opposing coach put the usual hex on them at halftime. I have watched that half ass football constantly the last decade. It is the damn coaching. The AD is going with Pittman if he is not axed soon. Had to vent. That game ruined my day yesterday. I will again stop watching them.

as I way to trim monetary losses would attempt to be regulated in upcoming court decisions. I have quit reading those Linked Articles on this board on that subject. I tired of reading all those threats by those lawsuit wild player's attorneys. However I read about three of those long articles. One said that about disallowing cutting sports. Most sports do lose money. Football makes the big money. Basketball & baseball surely support themselves on the P4 scale. Maybe not baseball in the B1G. However the rest all just lose money for a college that carries them. As these expenditures mount in these abounding player's lawsuits. One could see all the P4 conferences cutting all men's sports but those Three. Then pairing those three with three women's sports to avoid Title IX litigation. Those six sports would be the whole shebang. Can the requirement for more sports be litigated as that lawsuit happy Player's attorney implied? I don't know. However when we get to that stage.Bankruptcy is probably just around the corner.

The Big 12 didn't have the votes and UConn is very much at home in the Big East in basketball as some here from that region wisely detailed out. Those rivalries within the Big East provided the atmosphere for UConn to become a basketball power. This makes twice Yormark & UConn have shined the expansion limelight upon themselves on the national stage. What is it about any publicity is good publicity?

It just surfaced with the players failing to show up to play the ACC games. The ditch the ACC at all cost attitude of the FSU fan base echoing all across the internet may have had a lot to do with their attitude. Do the players read these message boards? I have heard the people that claim to be Razorback insiders over the years say the Hog players do read message boards. This does open up the ACC. With Clemson having a poor showing against Georgia, it looks like Miami is the early ACC powerhouse. Of course Georgia will make a lot of pretty good football teams look bad. However Virginia Tech has Clemson at home and goes to Miami. The road game to Miami looks like the big one. Virginia Tech winning both those games and just taking care of business with the weaker ACC gang would put Tech in the ACC Championship Game. Winning that ACCCG would put Tech in the new Playoff and Vandy would be long forgotten.

However Vandy does not play either Florida or Mississippi State this season. I think Kentucky will beat Vandy. The story should be told on Arkansas this coming Saturday in Stillwater. Arkansas should beat Oklahoma State just like good Arkansas teams did each year for decades years ago. Those game. were nearly always in Little Rock but the Cowboys got a yearly butt kicking. Arkansas should still beat them if worth any salt as an SEC team. Arkansas loses to Okie Lite. Then Arkansas would probably not beat Vandy if they played each other. A loss to Okie Lite would probably be the final nail in Pittman's coffin. I want the Hogs to win but losing Pittman is a good thing to me.

My father was a bigger supporter of Razorback football than I have ever dreamed about achieving. Got personal letters from Frank Broyles. He went to home & away games all over Texas. Had a suitcase with all the insignias of the SWC schools stuck upon it. I was amazed looking at that suitcase with mustangs, frogs, bears & horned cattle as a 3 & 4 year old while I rummaged the house. My father gave yearly big checks to the Razorback Foundation and was heavily involved as a older man in the controlling the parking and the crowds during games at the home stadiums in Little Rock & Fayetteville. By the time I was 8 or 9 years old, I was going with my father to Little Rock Razorback games and was living & dying when the Hogs won or lost. I would have a dozen questions for my father when my beloved Hogs lost. My father always had one pat answer. "Boy, It Was The Coaching." Virginia Tech has a veteran team, returned more contributing players off last year's roster than any other P4 program in the country. Virginia Tech should have dispatched Vanderbilt with those credentials. Why not? It Was The Coaching. Is Tech's season lost by losing to Vandy? No. However the Tech coaches have got to go to work coaching the team. I remember how the Longhorns most every season dominated the lines of scrimmage against the Razorbacks. The All Texan SWC officiating was real bad but the Longhorns would push the Razorback players on the lines of scrimmage. You could see it. That is why the series was lopsided favoring the Longhorns. That triple option Wishbone Offense the Longhorns ran meant controlling the O-Line to function. They use to call it Three Yards and a Cloud of Dust. However you look at the games Arkansas has played against Texas since entering the SEC. The percentage that Arkansas wins against Texas has went way up from SWC days. Texas no longer controls those lines of scrimmage. Arkansas has had wins against Texas while in the SEC where they mopped the floor with Texas. I know entering the SEC is going to help Texas condition their lineman into beasts. Texas will get tougher. The same would go for Virginia Tech. The SEC would make Virginia Tech tougher. Unless a fan base is hell bent on a natty as it was at Alabama after a few years with Saban. I looked ahead at Virginia Tech's future schedule. I think the next three games are the keys to a possibly real good season for Virginia Tech, Marshall, Old Dominion & Rutgers. Those next three games surely will now make or break the Tech football season more than the Vandy game. Going to Miami at 3-1 would give Tech a clear avenue to a real good season by winning at Miami.

That was with Chad Morris as head coach, Morris did not win one SEC game in his two years at Arkansas.Those Morris teams would have made the Hokies look great today playing a SEC foe. To answer your question, Vandy is not on Arkansas' schedule in 2024 or 2025. I don't know about in the future after that . However Arkansas has only played Vandy seven times in 33 years in the SEC if you count up to 2025. Arkansas is 7-3 overall against Vandy but 5-2 while SEC. Check how many times the Big Six (Alabama, Auburn, LSU, Georgia, Tennessee & Florida) in the SEC have played against Vandy over that time span? I know Arkansas & Texas A&M hit the Transfer Portal the hardest in the SEC in both losses & gains. Wasn't aware Vandy made a killing in the portal. Vandy has not challenged as a contender in the SEC in the 31 years that Arkansas has been in the SEC. However anything is possible. A good SEC showing by Vandy would surely now help the Hokies.

It is the Head coach. Arkansas has had a lot of bad coaches. I have closely observed all three. Bielema & Pittman were & are basically just stupid on the X's & O's that constitute good football. The technical blocking schemes by lineman & coverage schemes by DB's LB's that must be executed on both sides of the line of scrimmage. A good head coach must instantly notice failed assignments by players on offense & defense in game films and call those players out to be corrected. The players must respect the head coach as only wishing their betterment. All that is required of a good head football coach. They were both just stupid. Morris was a fruitcake that should have never advanced past the Texas high schools. How Debo Sweeney helped produce Morris is beyond me. Head coaches can depend on smart & experienced assistants to some extent but they must be very special assistants for them to carry much of the load. The saddest post I read here is the one that said Pry cannot be replaced in the short term. Virginia Tech does need to get better fast.

Motorhead & Diamond Head were seminal Heavy Metal Bands in the UK as the genre began anew in the late 1970's.Thousands of Heavy Metal bands across Europe in the 1980's.The old saying was there was a metal band on every street corner of every European city during that time. Metal never got as big in the US, the biggest movement was the glamor or hair metal in the late 1980's that followed the European big wave of the early & mid 1980's. Metallica was a great rarity in the US. However a lot of great US bands as Laaz Rockit, they were just more thrash sounding in 1980's. Most all US thrash band were on Independent Labels in those days. Before the later onslaught of US hair metal bands on the Major Labels Didn't know Metallica had licensing rights with VT?? Then you have an off season of lawsuits with none stop speculation both positive & negative about where FSU could soon be playing football. Could young football players lose focus in all that? I think they can lose focus with a lot less distractions than that. I think a couple of bad apple malcontent players in the locker room can cause a whole team to lose focus on a football game. Norvell has to combat all that. Norvell didn't do a good job.

A decade away. I doubt the P2 has basketball on the brain in that reality along with the present situation on athlete revenue sharing settlements hinging in the US Congress. You then read articles on the prospects of athlete revenue sharing being a probable ongoing legal issue onward into coming years, that all has to lie heavily on the minds of every member of the P2 or any P4 school. I know that no school has been taken due to basketball yet in expansion. We will see Yormark pulls the trigger on U-Conn. Those Nattys just have stars in Yormark's eyes as he beats the bushes for more dollars for the Big-12. Yormark is a good conference commissioner, you got to give him that.

More money saved by Big Media. You think a NE Division of the Big-12 with West Virginia, Cincinnati, Louisville, U Conn, Pitt & Syracuse would not appeal to Yormark? All just about basketball. Why has Yormark also being again interested n Gonzaga not yet resurfaced?

That appears to be the biggest draw. The Big12 does have West Virginia with Cincinnati now within that NE region of the country. One does have to kinda question the timing of all this renewed interest by Yormark in U-Conn, These conference commissioners are far above the fray of the racket that the general public gets exposed to researching the current expansion issues. They can make a few well placed phone calls and see those expansion issues in relative clarity. Yormark may know exactly what is over the horizon on expansion in the next few months Yormark may be expecting a lot of company for U-Conn in entering the Big-12 rather soon. I think the reserved conduct of the SEC & even the B1G on shunning schools as Arizona & Utah deserves being noted. The SEC didn't make a single peep about going west of Oklahoma all during that PAC break-up.The B1G was surely a bit reserved just taking USC, UCLA, Oregon & Washington with what was left on the table. I think those in the ACC should look at all that when envisioning the future. I surely do.

Usually scheduled to began soon after the expected end of the Big 12 game on FOX. That meant a Saturday late afternoon start. CBS would also always air the Arkansas/LSU game which was always the Friday after Thanksgiving. Then also broadcast the Iron Bowl game the next day on Saturday between Alabama/Auburn. CBS continued the show that Friday after Thanksgiving game with Arkansas even after the SEC changed Arkansas' opponent to Missouri. CBS was contracted to get their 1st choice over ESPN of all the SEC games available on any given Saturday. That first weekend start of SEC Games you showed that ABC plans to broadcast appears a lot more far ranging in SEC Games than any weekend that CBS ever had. Probably a direct result of both ESPN & ABC being owned by Disney. ABC has an it is absolutely alright option to broadcast as many SEC games as wanted.. The ACC & Big-12 should be concerned about air time on ABC.

Is that the way negotiations on the Big Media stage usually work? More like the kid's football playground. Where if you dare to displease the big kid who brought his football. The big kid takes his football home and never brings the football back. That is exactly what ESPN & FOX did with the PAC. Big Media said the PAC asked for too much money. So Big Media forever stopped negotiating with the PAC. Was that decision to stop negotiating by Big Media really justified? I think it wasn't.

Right after I Submitted my immediately below post. Started to Edit it, but got distracted at that moment. ESPN just publicly saying how much they value their relationship with the ACC would be great. ESPN wouldn't even have to mention the ACC TV Contract extension. Both saying nothing just looks like a sour relationship between the two. I remember Arkansas was reported to have gotten two formal invites from the Big 12 in the period of about 10 - 20 years ago. One of the Big-12 offers became a hot topic with the Arkansas media. I have always been somewhat pissed off by SEC officiating and felt Arkansas was treated as a back burner program by the SEC hierarchy. I don't vent here because the SEC gets enough grief here anyway but you have never seen me confront anybody here that is laying the wood to the SEC. Anyway I grinned about the Big-12 offer and said to myself that I hoped they let the Birmingham office of the SEC simmer a bit about possibly of losing Arkansas. The SEC front office didn't have to simmer very long. Jeff Long, the Arkansas AD at that time, issued a public statement saying how much Arkansas cherished their SEC relationship, and with respect to the Big 12, would not accept a Big 12 invite. I was mad at Long, however he showed the SEC there was no chance of Arkansas leaving. It just took that simple statement by Long. Not that hard to put good public face on the ACC/ESPN relationship. The silence just gives the opposite impression of a bad relationship. It just hurts the ACC that already appears on the rocks.

On all this expansion activity going back over 30 years. When people like Deninis Dodd start seriously talking in specifics. The smoke soon turns to fire. As for ESPN. Why would it hurt ESPN to say they were in serious negotiations with the ACC to extend that TV contract? ESPN wouldn't have to say anything else about results being imminent or a word more. That would obviously strengthen the ACC's hand in court as well as public opinion. It would sure quell the concerns of ACC fans on this board. Why would ESPN not want to publicly help the ACC?

I would further define mid stride as never missing a step. At least that was my intention when using the term. I can best explain my use of the term in relation to other conferences to how I interpret that term in the SEC. I have seen several new TV media contracts come into fruition watching SEC football from season to season. ESPN & CBS have not shown any TV changes when new contracts came into play. Therefore mid stride and never missing a step. The same would have true watching PAC games on FOX if not for Big Media bailing out on the PAC after the 2023 football season. Nobody would have missed a step watching PAC football if Big Media had not bailed. The same is true on the ACC. Nobody would miss a step watching the ACCN if ESPN would just resign that TV Contract.

Read the ACC GOR. It refers to ESPN repeatedly all over the thing. GOR means Grant Of Rights. Which refers to nothing but media rights. Therefore how can a GOR exist with no media provider. I know the theory by some here is the ACC could just replace ESPN to extend the GOR. However would FOX or CBS accept a GOR as investment insurance that has ESPN listed as the media provider all over it? Not themselves?

I don't know if Pittinger & Gang are really comparable to Dennis Dodd. I have been predicting what Dodd just confirmed on this board for six months. My route to that conclusion was rudimentary by just following precedents as Stech puts it. The PAC lost TV Contracts in mid stride just as Dodd is now predicting for the ACC. It is the same dance card to the same song with Big Media. Not hard to predict. I'll be getting a lot of things right lately about predicting expansion if what Dodd says comes to pass in February. A lot more than just kicking dates down the road. I said several months ago that nothing would happen in 2024. I said the SEC & B1G wished a stall due to all the incoming schools in 2024.

However all these well connected MSM Sports big wigs singing the same song has to be very disconcerting to all the ACC faithfuls on this board. This probably would be the nail in the coffin for the ACC as a P4. FSU could not get totally free from the ACC but would only have that GOR as an obstacle until June 30, 2027. All the ACC schools would see the writing onl the wall to get any opportunistic decisions made in short order. We will now just have to wait until next February.

With his public comments and even ignored going to a NYC meeting with a big PE Group. Those big cash infusions by any outside investment entity are done in the interest of eventually making them a profit. That means in the short term or long term, the PE will take out more money than they gave. How is that going to ultimately help any College Athletic Department? I don't think it takes a rocket scientist to figure that out. I noticed that article mentioned unequal revenue sharing for the schools within the P2 conferences too. That is going to cause a lot of turmoil if ever implemented. The Big-12 already tried that with Texas. It surely had a lot to do with other schools leaving the Big-12. I know Missouri specifically mentioned that unequal sharing when they left the Big-12.

I know that is not a problem in most parts of Virginia. The upper half of Virginia would fit with Pennsylvania more than Arkansas & Alabama. I have relatives that lived in NOVA for over 20 years. However the B!G would have liked getting Texas & Oklahoma. It was said the tea sippers in Austin would never join the SEC. However did the B1G get Texas? Tallahassee is surely more culturally southern than Austin. I know nothing about the culture of North Carolina. I have already alluded to Virginia schools probably going B1G over the SEC. However for all the ACC schools south of North Carolina. The B1G is only getting what the SEC doesn't want.

That is my opinion as this board overflows with people's opinions. I don't know what that proves by using that singularly as a response. You could have addressed some of the many points I made in that previous response. I try to do that here. I know you are an ACC loyalist to the bone.However you need to analyze the ESPN failures to resign that ACC TV Contract since 2021.That should be sobering to anyone as you. Does Big Media stall around resigning TV Contracts with the B1G or SEC? Another clear precedent for you. I am not making phone calls or writing letters behind the scenes to ESPN bashing the ACC. Not a enemy of the ACC. I always enjoyed the few games the Razorbacks played with the ACC schools over the years. Had rather keep those games than forever lose them.

Not trying to change the subject. Just establishing that the Big-12 seems to be a favored child with Big Media. I would argue that the new Big-12 Media Contract that you reference was used as bait by Big Media to draw in the 4-Corner schools to the Big-12. Colorado, Utah, Arizona & Arizona State are lucrative investments for Big Media. Those G5 you mention are chump change in comparison. Big Media is orchestrating all this. But for argument sake, who has the ACC got to add that compare to those four corners schools? Washington State & Oregon State would be the only two that even come close. Those two are on the other side of the continent from the ACC. A very bad geographic fit.

I have read it is higher but to avoid a debate, I will use the 30% figure, I have never seen the Media Value of those two stated below 30%. 30% of $44.8 Million is about $13.5 Million, So each ACC school would see their media payout from ESPN drop by at least that $13.5 Million. Leaving each ACC school with about a $31.3 Million payout. I think that $31.3 Million projection from ESPN minus FSU & Clemson is optimistic. However that $13.5 Million multiplied 16 or 17 times is well over $200 Million. That $200 Million is literally impending on those court judgements. I think that alone would stop ESPN from furthering those $44.8 Million payouts beyond 2027. ESPN therefore will not resign that ACC TV Deal as long as court as in session. Sorry some cannot still see that ESPN connection to the ACC GOR. ESPN being written all over that GOR just will not convince them. I guess they can hope for the judges to feel the same way. I have seen crazier stuff come out of courts.

You go very light about mentioning all the specific references to ESPN in that ACC GOR, What other media provider is specifically or even alluded to within that ACC GOR? I think those two facts will be the crux of lawsuits against the ACC when that present GOR no longer has ESPN as the media provider. That would be lawsuits filed closer to June 30, 2027. I say already planned out due to how the current Playoff Contract is very short term and the SEC is making specific short term identical schedules for 2024 & 2025. Everything seems to being made for just the next couple of years. That could translate to some possible significant changes in the near future for a critical thinker. Some here are just praying for the status quo with all these changes becoming ever more apparent. Not even the mainstream media is saying status quo anymore for college football. The MSM loves to tell us everything will be alright until we are six feet in the ground.

I remember reading several times on SEC media sources. That the SEC had refused Oklahoma due to Oklahoma insisting on Oklahoma State getting an SEC invite too. That was right after Texas A&M had declared intent to join the SEC in 2012. Oklahoma is a football blue blood that UNC never even dreamed about being. The SEC would not take Oklahoma State but will take NC State & Duke to get UNC? Just because North Carolina has double the population. I would still argue that the Oklahoma population has more savvy college football fans than North Carolina. North Carolina has more savvy college basketball fans hands down over Oklahoma. The SEC isn't taking UNC, NC State & Duke unless Sankey loses his mind. I don't see the SEC giving the state of Virginia to the B1G unless both schools just refused the SEC. I guess that could happen. I could see the SEC taking UVA, VT, UNC & NC State to get past the attached at the hip thinking politicians Could be the SEC will just get UNC, NC State, Clemson and maybe FSU. With the Virginia schools both going B1G. That would be the six to get both to 20 members.

The ACC GOR even specifically implies that ESPN is the media provider in several places within the wording of the ACC GOR. How can another media provider be inserted into that same ACC GOR without a new ACC GOR being legally prepared? Then would FSU & Clemson ever sign that new ACC GOR? Then how would any court hold FSU & Clemson future media rights accountable to the ACC? I think the answer to the last two questions is No. I do hope the best for SMU. I remember the great old SWC games that Arkansas had with SMU. I consider Eric Dickerson & Craig James to be in the same league as Darren McFadden & Felix Jones. Never better pairs of two RB's like that on any college football teams in the history of college football.

What was Sankey supposed to say? That he would accept FSU with open arms? Then Jim Phillips would have his attorneys preparing a Tortious Interference lawsuit against the SEC to be filed the next day. Sankey was wise to say he was happy with 16 just like Pettiti was wise to say he was happy with 18. I know Sankey added something about not wanting to slice the pie anymore for FSU. How hard would it be for Sankey or Pettiti to backtrack on those harsh feelings towards FSU if need be? You think FSU would have hard feelings under those obvious legal circumstances?

This article details the present situation on all four lawsuits involving the ACC. Points out how little has been accomplished so far in those four courts. Soon will be pushing a year and still arguing in those courts about the legal venue location. I particularly noticed this statement within that article. I quote, "The ACC's television deal with ESPN runs through 2027, with a network option through 2036 that ESPN must exercise by February 2025." As we know here, Phillips created that February, 2025 deadline for ESPN. How legally binding is that 2025 date? I think the 2027 deadline is the one that counts I think the way these lawsuits are dragging along all within the light of that 2027 deadline. The only purpose for those courts may ultimately be. I was going to make this post as a Topic Header in several hours. However 5:35 Central Time is probably sufficient to call the August 15 deadline as passed. I put an SI article Link of about three weeks ago that accurately predicted the time frame inclusive of August 15, 2024, as a dry run. I have been predicting that here for weeks.Josh Pate & TJ Pittinger and their sources are worthless on expansion. The same goes for Greg Frugaur and his long winded two hour ramblings quoting his inside sources. Take them as a grain of salt for the future about expansion. Now the way I see the future on expansion. I have no idea where specific ACC schools may land in the future. I do think the SEC may have a leg up on the B1G on some of these southern schools just due to geography. The B1G would be a leg up with academics. Which is more advantageous? I think the geography as far as football goes, I give Texas & Oklahoma as recent examples. The future of the ACC until 2036, depends on one thing. ESPN resigning that ACC TV Contract before June 30, 2027. It is that simple. Why doesn't my SI Link or any Mainstream Media outlet mention that very important impending 9 year advancement? That is because ESPN labeled that information in a court of law as a Trade Secret and further alleged FSU attorneys had committed felonies by releasing that information. No MSM outlet will now touch it. ESPN is just keeping the spotlight off themselves as long as possible. However that June 30, 2027, deadline still exists and is ebbing closer with every passing year. I doubt August 15, 2025, brings any exit announcement by FSU & Clemson. However you can about bet the house that August 15, 2026, will bring those two exit announcements plus a lot more ACC exits. The ACC will play the 2026 football season fully intact just like the PAC did in 2023. The 2026 season will be the last for the ACC as it now stands. I know this is not a popular post here. I would not enjoy making a post like this about the SEC. Greed is causing this like every war and most all the calamities that plague mankind. I will not post here again for a while. Maybe ESPN will resign. I will be glad to acknowledge that signing. .

I see Vandy regularly given the unworthy label to be in the SEC by some here. Duke is a basketball power and never anything else. Vandy competes in the SEC in every sport but football. I cannot see the SEC taking Duke to get UNC. That would be the only possible excuse for the SEC acting that idiotic. Of course I wish the SEC to stay at 16. Just like I was happy with 12.

They are the reason the PAC went down the drain. The reason why ESPN is dragging their feet on resigning that ACC TV Contract. The fans of those "zero value do-nothings" in the ACC that you mentioned just cannot or will not accept that. I don't have that problem. It is all becoming about big brand match-up football games that get high TV Ratings with those corresponding high advertiser rates. Many things are changing. Revenue sharing, Transfer Portals expanding and unregulated NIL. Then you have this ever progressing conference expansion. The gap between Haves & Have Nots will be ever expanding. The unfair distribution of the last Playoff Contract was just the beginning and the ACC & Big 12 put the noose around their own neck. How can that noose now ever be removed? No way with ESPN ultimately acting as the hangman. My previous comment did refer to the old college football world that is now in death throes. I have even heard the old conspiracy theorist term used to defend ESPN by those here that still see ESPN as a mostly benevolent soul. Conspiracy Theory comes from CIA invention. Used by the CIA in mass media as denigratory against anyone accusing the CIA of worldwide crimes. Most conspiracy allegations over the ages have been proven to be truths with passing years. That is fact.

That would definitely be a new world in the SEC. The SEC is now playing a specifically arranged home & home schedule for the 2024 & 2025 football seasons. I have heard & think it is two years of transitional scheduling. All schools will play the exact same eight other SEC schools for 2024 & 2025, it will just be a home & home with those same eight. Guess what SEC schools have Vandy in those eight? Eight ultimately do but Alabama is in that Eight. When the SEC went to Divisions in 1992. Arkansas got Tennessee & South Carolina from the opposite division as yearly opponents. Alabama got Tennessee & Vandy as their yearly opponent, that arrangement lasted about a decade. Alabama likes playing Vandy. Surely has played Vandy as much or more than any other western division SEC school over the last 30+ years. Alabama positively gets Vandy scheduled a lot more than Arkansas does. In tight competition in divisional standings or even with the new single division of the SEC. One game means a lot in the final standing when playoffs or bowl bids are given at the end of the regular season. Georgia doesn't have Vandy on the 2024 or 2025 football schedule. That means if Georgia beats Alabama but has just one other SEC loss, Alabama can still be tied with Georgia if Alabama wins out in the SEC after losing to Georgia. It also helps keeping Alabama playoff eligible over other schools if Alabama should suffer just one loss. You think all that is lost on the Alabama based SEC front office? So no big surprise. The ACC will mediate away nothing unless it benefits the ACC. Probably on a long term basis. Hard to see the ACC benefiting in the long term or short term by FSU exiting. Some here think Phillips might be in private negotiations with ESPN on a TV Contract extension. With Phillips hoping to get a better TV contract deal after 2027 for ACC schools with those negotiations. Anyway you cut it. FSU leaving the ACC would not be persuasive in getting more money out of ESPN. It would have the opposite effect. If the ACC moderates away FSU. You know the dam is about to break. I don't think that is the present situation.

It would just align with what happened in the PAC with Klavikoff negotiating with FOX & ESPN. That went public framed as a big failure by Klavikoff. One could see Phillips wanting to keep a tight wrap on negotiations with ESPN these days.

I pretty much allow for that type ESPN option every time I mention the more dire possibilities for the ACC. However ESPN does not fool around with the SEC. No lolly gagging with the Big-12 when along with FOX, ESPN jumped a year earlier than necessary to make sure the Big-12 was all nice & cozy with a brand new TV Contract. ESPN comes off looking like a sly business operator. However some here can keep hoping ESPN will stay content to just keep beating around the bush with the ACC.

Needing a new ACC GOR due to a court decision and enforcing that new ACC GOR by a 2/3 vote of the ACC membership. The ACC can probably get that 2/3's. However FSU & Clemson would surely never sign a new GOR. UNC might not either. However that would raise a new question to ultimately be answered in court. Can a school be held legally responsible into the future by a contract they never signed?

Or Disney to be exact. The Florida court where FSU filed is going to bend over for Disney just like this Florida AG has done. Will ESPN resign extending that ACC TV deal past 2027? That is the only question to be answered within the next two years. By August 15, 2026. ESPN will really be working behind that legal curtain in the judicial system to manipulate their monetary desires. All that ACC dismal near future obliterated if ESPN just resigns that TV Contract. An interesting wait. Where ACC schools go is the real puzzling aspect in all this.
