Not B!G but after ALL the grief the ACC took with our newcomers,
It was exciting watching Cal go to Alabama and punch Auburn in the mouth and put the War Eagle on its arse. We had been told by the pundits how bad that addition was for the ACC. I'm happy with Cal.

Looks Bad For Freeze at Auburn
Arkansas helped Freeze out by losing to Liberty in Fayetteville. Arkansas has just been great about helping out on the resumes of coaches at the G5 & FCS level over the last decade. Freeze brought scandal accompanied by NCAA probation to Ole Miss before Liberty rescued him. That didn't deter Auburn when Liberty knocked off Arkansas. Another 30 minute performance by Arkansas yesterday in Stillwater. Looking great in the 1st half until the opposing coach put the usual hex on them at halftime. I have watched that half ass football constantly the last decade. It is the damn coaching. The AD is going with Pittman if he is not axed soon. Had to vent. That game ruined my day yesterday. I will again stop watching them.

When/if VT goes 3-3 or 2-4, that statement will be echoed on this
site too.

Just spent the past week in Arkansas.
Beautiful State. We were staying in Branson, and go see the National Parks. Went to Buffalo River,, Pea Ridge, Hot Springs, Hope, Arkansas Post. Also went to Walmart Museum, Fayetteville, and Little Rock. Beautiful State. Stopped in Pine Bluff to eat at a restaurant headed back to Little Rock from AR Post. Sad. Hope for the best there. But great State! Good Luck to your Hogs!

Familiar With All Those Places
Except Arkansas Post, that is down where the Arkansas River empties into the Mississippi River if I remember right. Arkansas Post was once the Capitol location for Arkansas until moved to Little Rock due to wanting the more centralized location. Played on the Arkansas River as a kid growing up in the extreme eastern part of North Little Rock. Until a friend was nearly killed when sand caved in on a big hole they were digging. The Corp of Engineers ran us off after that with chauffeured visits to our parents. I knew I wanted that man visiting my father just the one time. I was going all over that Buffalo River to Bull Shoals area of north central Arkansas just a few months back.I was looking for property to buy. A lot of mountain side stuff with roads a mountain goat would have trouble navigating. I thought I might have damaged my truck bottom on one of them. It made a thundering loud screeching noise. I was looking for some flat acreage with a decent house. That type property has went through the roof up there over the last few years. I was talking to people on neighboring properties at several locations. They said they came from Minnesota & Wisconsin. I know the Hot Springs area well. My father and his brother had speed boats when I was a kid. My whole side of the family on the Father's side would gather in cabins on Lake Hamilton at least 4 or 5 weekends every summer. Great memories of that.

Auburn has no morals when it comes to coaching hires.
Freeze will probably find a way to uphold Auburn’s record for NCAA violations should they (the NCAA and/or enforceable violations) continue to exist going forward. ** Edited by RJHokie at 9/8/2024, 11:20:26 PM

The only game folks will remember is Tennessee woodshedding NC State

Don’t say that to Notre Dame fans (or rather NIU Huskie fans!

Tennessee was probably heavily favored there.
That one isn't a deviation from the pundits narrative. Neither was Georgia Clemson.
Pylons Pylons
Maybe not a deviation, but the support for it was painfully emphatic

That’s an impressive win/score for UT, especially being in Charlotte.

Things got away from NCSU quickly after that pick-6. What a crazy
turn of events.

actually Tenn was only -8.5 for spread (but won by 41). Neutral site also

NC State being NC State. I've been watching college football since the '70s
Can't remember even one significant national game that NC State has played in. So when pundits tell you they are going to be good this year, don't put your money down on them.

State played us in a bowl game in the 80s.
They (State) lost.

Josh Heupel Has Tennessee Back
Heupel was the QB for Oklahoma when they won their last natty in 2000. Tennessee had been real lousy many years since Phillip Fulmer was fired but not anymore.

For football Yes. Impressed with Wolfpack basketball.
Both men's and women's Wolfpack teams did well last spring. Didn't win national titles, but made Final 4. Not a Wolfpack fan as you know, but they contribute.

No doubt about it.
Just not counting on them in football. Especially against UT. NC State should be better than they are in football. But they just aren't. But yeah, they have their legendary moments in MBB, that's for sure.

Fairly well
Michigan got whipped by Texas, NW lost to Duke in 2OT and Iowa lost by one to ISU. Everybody else won, but PSU/Bowling Green and Oregon/Boise ST were closer than they should have been. There was a conference game as MSU beat Maryland in a close game.
reestuart reestuart
Illinois also beat a ranked Kansas team, which doesn't sound righ
when said out loud.

Kinda like Kansas beating VT in the Orange Bowl?
