How many of you are “working” today?
I am, but no meetings scheduled and nothing urgent happening. Will be a pretty chill day.

volume of work to get done by end month. I'm finishing giving one state to another guy and picking up half of another so doing double work.
This time of year is quite the conundrum because I'd love to be off but when everyone else is, I get what feels like several days worth of work done each day. I'm guessing some of you have the same experience.

But if course the urgent/can't wait call came at 1:50 to keep me until 4pm.
Oh yeah, could have been 100% avoided if people would just read their emails.

But finished until Monday with a flurry yesterday. Had some what I call “fly bye” curve ball requests that came out of the blue - goes back to growing up in Va Beach and occasionally getting bombed on the shoulder by a seagull while mowing the grass.

much due, though. We somehow escaped damage the day before when a relentless train of vultures flew right over us heading north. No idea what that was about. There's only so much road kill to go around here.

hasn’t come to an end for someone, somewhere at one of our site teams. My boss is also out this week so we are on “if it is an emergency” basis between the two of us. Some of our site teams work 24/7, 365 per year because the power generation industry can never go on break or holiday.

Still not in the new office space, so WFH. Been reviewing architecture documents and trying to figure out how to do 3 months of work between now and mid Jan, which is 1.5 months because our customer cannot stop from making foolish and risky decisions.

To wear off.
Trigger finger surgery. Now my right arm and hand are nice and orange thanks to the antiseptic solution.

building but me. They needed an office for new employee at headquarters so I volunteered to move to out here. Today I will be doom scrolling and evaluating stocks on the conference room computer while I wait for the contracted IT team to install my computer and monitors. I think the only reason the Board hired me is to be a backup QB in case the Director croaks or a faction wants to deep six his ass. Whatever collecting the pension and chilling and still getting a regular salary. That is what happens when you ask god for a little less stress in life and he always over delivers. LOL

I will likely lose ~15 days of unused PTO at the end of the year. However I've already fielded multiple work phone calls this morning, so I'm never truly "off".

I work nights, weekends, holidays, and vacations days... I need help. Unfortunately, I don't have the budget to hire anyone else. I think I am on track to lose about 10 days of vacation at the end of the year.
