Is this an improvement over anyone we lost, or just filling the roster already?
Too small to play 5 consistently unless he gains 40 pounds. May be a mismatch for other teams when he plays the 4, due to his 3 %.

Will look until all portal entries are complete. But I see a 4 who has a skill in his ability to shoot the three. Assuming we bring in a legitimate (or maybe even 2) 5 that has the capability of starting then we are looking at Atak as a backup to Hansberry next season at the four. Who happens to be able to shoot the ball well. A nice commodity coming off the bench. There is a lot of work to do in the portal to fill out this roster. We need at least two starters but we also need several bench players that will be in the rotation. I wouldn’t be surprised in the end to see 4-5 portal guys added and maybe even a spring high school player or perhaps two. You might be able to find an unsigned, upside high school player that is still out there and won’t be prohibitively costly. Those guys are tough to find in April but not as tough as they were to find before the portal Bigfooted itself over high school players starting a few years back

Its someone who was missing from this past season. A 4 who could play alongside any other big VT had last season (or likely will have this season). You dont want him defending 5s or wings for any extended time, but he can switch for any given possession and not be a glaring weakness.
He has a long way to go to be a consistent impact, but if you saw him before he arrived on campus at Oklahoma and compared it to where he is now you'd think he was swapped out for a completely different person. That's what theyre hoping here, that he continues that trajectory and hasn't yet met his ceiling. If he were to add one or two dribbles or even one or two post moves the way he has added shooting then he could be closer to a consistent impact than you'd think. But alas, at the moment, he is a big jar of potential who has good measurables and a marketable skill (shooting)

7 PPG per 12 minutes? That's about 15 PPG with starters minutes. 46% shooting is good too.
I like it. We needed tall pure shooters. His Assists or Rebounds aren't very impressive but you can't have everything. Good pickup.

One of at least two Bigs. More 4 than 5 as he lacks the sand in his pants to consistently guard ACC Bigs in the paint. There will be additional Bigs brought in that are true 5’s. This is just one of 4-5 portal pieces. Body frame is similar to that of Philip McCandies, going back some years ago
