If it stays like it is, there will be few if any additions to the B1G or
SEC.
I think our best chance is if it goes to a new P1 with huge financial backing. Maybe 36 schools involved? That way, the SEC and B1G won’t need to jettison their weak links. Their weak links will simply not receive invites to the new P1 league.

It very simply depends on which OOC games you eliminate.
I support going to a 10 game conference schedule if it means eliminating games like VMI, Liberty, JMU and ODU. But why do I doubt that would happen.
And with the SEC and Big 10 going to 10 games, good P4 OOC games will get more difficult to schedule and afford.

In that case, a new conference would form ( new legal entity) with its own
new tv contracts. Teams for the new conference would be selected from current ACC and Big12 schools. No one gets "jettisoned" by their current conference but they do get left behind. Semantics? Sure but it gives schools in the new conference legal cover.
The new conference would be coast to coast for football and probably men's basketball. All other sports will be regional. Why coast to coast? That's what the streaming services strongly prefer.

There would be no conference championship games and all 24 teams would be
at-large selections based on national ranking of some sort. At least that is how I read it.

I thought NIL is an “off books” expense since it is not paid by the school
but rather is paid by the collectives. The collectives would show the expense on their books.
Is that not the case?

I agree logistics has been a big issue for us for years and will continue
to be. Could be a detrimental tipping weight in our final push to remain a player in top level revenue sports.

Agree 100%. When was the last time Neo was on a team where he was expected
to be "the guy"? Maybe never. I just think he was totally unprepared for the pressure and he wilted.
Most top college players have had that pressure for several years before they arrive in college.

And it’s not just that the students are currently on an end. It’s also that they are WELL off the floor.
This is such an easy move to raise the energy and enthusiasm level in Cassell. And it would drive ticket sales and actual butts in seats.
The AD is just looking for ways to make his job easier. The way it is now, he doesn’t have to worry about student behavior. And sold but empty seats makes concourse management and concession setups a lot easier.

I think the benefits of NFL rights are very easily quantified for the
traditional linear networks. It is easily the main driver of advertising dollars and keeps the networks afloat. Without it, the networks become shells of their former selves if they even continue to exist. Scripted episodic programming and news divisions will die.

For me, I can listen to favorite songs anytime. So my favorite soundtracks
are those that are the scores written by great movie composers like 2001 A Space Odyssey, Dances With Wolves, and Out of Africa. There are numerous others.

How were we able to fix the Ballein problem in football and not in
basketball?
Is/was CMY tight with the Balleins? I know Ballein was a supporter in Young’s hire. And Whit seemed to lean on Ballein for years.

Engagement is needed to drive giving.
And engagement is driven by one’s ability/desire to attend games.
Alumni as a whole are driven to attend football games because they are a fall weekend “event”. So they are willing to donate more and drive farther.
Women’s Basketball, Softball and Wrestling do not largely attract alumni living more than an hour away. But they drive local engagement because of cost, practical game times that are known in advance and well behaved fans. The engagement and entertainment value drive giving.
Mens Basketball is hindered by a lack of local engagement driven by inconvenient game times not known in advance and cost. And while entertainment is subjective, CMY, irrespective of wins and losses, does not put an entertaining style of basketball on the floor. Buzz did. Moir did. Watching Mike’s teams is more of a chore than entertaining.

At least for now. He needs to work on playing stronger. Draw fouls.
And LOL, I would make him lose the arm sleeve that he spends most of the game tugging on.
And one more while we are at it. Lose the toe bounce thing on defense.

CW is a local channel just like your CBS affiliate etc. So its availability
on live TV streamers like YouTube TV and Hulu varies from market to market.
So if you don't have a local over the air CW affiliate, you won't find it on the aforementioned streamers. And even if you do, it is subject to contractual agreements at the local level.
