Avdalas.
His decision to enter the portal will benefit both parties in the long run.
Tech doesn’t have enough money to build a talented enough roster around Neo and honestly doesn’t have enough to spend it on Neo anyway.
Neo will transfer somewhere where he’ll be the third most talented player on the team and will hopefully thrive. He can’t get that here.
Just my opinions. It also only benefits tech if we can retain Hammond.

College basketball is a game where effort and physicality make up for raw talent much of the time.
Neo isn’t a guy who was ready to be a target, he should be better prepared next year but honestly going pro is better for him unless he gets crazy NIL money.
Sit on an NBA bench for a year and practice shooting full time. He’ll get there

This was always my concern for Kitley. Great skills but a step slow for the pro game. He may be become a better player as he gets older but thinking he would be a better pro than a collegiate player doesn't make sense. This sounds similar to the "1st round draft pick" insistence we have heard all season despite his drop in performance.
He is an easy player to guard right now. And all the court vision and IQ in the world won't help if you can't keep up with the pace of the game, offensively and defensively. His passing skills are very good but he doesn't excel at any other part of the game. Players who make it in the NBA without offensive skills survive on high level defense and/or rebounding. And he doesn't have that.
I wish he had stuck with us, but I understand he may want to get experience under another coach.

to be "the guy"? Maybe never. I just think he was totally unprepared for the pressure and he wilted.
Most top college players have had that pressure for several years before they arrive in college.

Just seemed like his role at VT was never a good fit and he didn’t look fully comfortable in Coach Young’s system for some reason. A change of scenery would do him good.
The one year experiment ended with mixed results, but personally I have no hard feelings. Sometimes things just don’t work out as planned. I wish him well.
