I would estimate, given what I know, that we would still have 1.5 million to replace tobi with. That money should be spent on ENTIRELY on an athletic 5.
This would give us:
1. Hammond
2. Top 75 perimeter defender
3. Johnson
4. Hansberry
5. Rim protecting 5
6. Gurdak
7. Schutt
8. Combo guard/ backup pg
9. Freeman?
10. Jones
11. Dorn🙄
This would require the team to have likely an additional million dollars. Putting the payroll between 7-8 million. Which is still middle of the ACC at best.

When every game comes down to the wire, end of game dynamics and hi basketball IQ matters.
add in injuries -- and all these multifaceted reasons -- simply increases the probability of close heart break losses (and the OT wins) VT has seen.

We’re in the bottom half of the league standings for a reason. The reason is we simply aren’t a very good basketball program. IIWII, at least for now. It’ll remain that way for the foreseeable future, barring some kind of major shakeup or a massive infusion of cash.

we have no idea whether the missing of VT's 5th best player (maybe one of the best defensive players on the team) would result in wins. Too many variables to make that assumption.
