But VT isn't up against the possibility of a 1st round pick or a 2nd round pick. They're competing against a team making a promise to him that he would be picked if he made it to their selection.
That means a team would have to like him so much that they feel any other players they like would be gone by the time their pick arrived, and they don't want to also lose him to the college route, so they make him a promise.
I don't think he separated himself so much from other players in that pick range that it would necessitate a promise being made. But all it takes is one team to like him that much.
FWIW, I wouldn't put much stock into mock drafts when it comes to his situation. Any person/group making a mock draft with any actual industry knowledge would know its either a first round promise or college for him (and others) and thus would not include him in a second round mock draft
Also, I read earlier that he visited Baylor so...

And that's only if he starts the day after he leaves the combine

Hope that helps us

That's gonna give a starting spot and 30+ mpg in a style of offense he likes

There will be some colleges..
Remember, once a player stays in the draft that a college had a commitment from or was counting on a commitment, then that frees up that money targeted to those players remaining in the draft. Hypothetically, that is the avenue Tech would explore should Avdalas remain in the draft and get a promise. There would be money freed up that was targeted for Avdalas. Itâs like a second gold rush. Players remain in the draft, teams now need to find a replacement for those upper tier players and those are not coming from guys still available in the portal. That specific group of targeted replacement players is strictly comprised of prospects who did not remain in the draft. A rush of colleges in a compressed time frame to grab a small, finite number of available prospects no longer in the Draft.
And there are always going to be coaches, especially in these conditions, who will make promises simply to get a commitment. Regardless of if they intend to keep said promises. That has happened a time or two in the past.

Somehow I don't think that's going to matter for a Greek guy.

he needs a couple years at VT to hone his skills :-)

But his offense is great. He's a stud shooter and was solid at passingthe ball. Mine problems were with his Defense and ball handling. He got beat off the drive pretty easy and missed some Defenses assignments and regarding ball handling He didn't do much outside trying to spot up and shoot a 3 (he did have a drive where he got stopped before the paint but he hit a fadeaway) I like to see more next game he plays but I see why people like his potential

I have a brilliant, revolutionary idea...
My suggestion is that the play-by-play guy actually guide the discussion towards the game that he is supposed to be calling. Isn't that a neat idea?
(In response to this post by La Gargola)
One other brilliant idea...
Next time I would recommend that ESPN actually show the last three minutes of the game.

I do admit I love it whenâĻ
people talk to, and answer themselves on the board like this. Does Chris need a wellness check?

no nothings. Then of course the drivel-mouth Alexander, believes he has to ask his usual dopey scissors questions.
oh, yes, to answer your question, it would be wonderful, but it's ESPN so I'd expect the mindless pablum to dominate air time.

I've heard more about Malcolm Delaney today than any of the guys playing.

guys on the court NOW? PLEASE??
(In response to this post by Chris Coleman)
Also, and this one is serious...
Don't get too caught up in how Avdalas, or anybody else, plays in these scrimmages. These guys starting working together on May 11, and three days later they are trying to play an actual game together. The communication will be poor. It's five players vs. five players, rather than a team vs. a team.

Imho a year of college baseball would help him tremendously
(In response to this post by ancient alien 2018)
The format calls for street ball
these guys want to show off their offensive talent. When they get on some sort of team with real coaches you will see what their defensive skills are.

Could have had a few more assists if not for missed shots.
(In response to this post by La Gargola)
There was a third assist as well.
