SIR…WVU @ VT 1980. Note how many things are different; no 3 point line…
fashion, lack of tattoos, athleticism. The WVU play by play guy is annoying, at least to me. It was fun to watch. ** Edited by KiloZulu at 4/5/2024, 11:41:21 AM

Gotta love those early 1980s commercials
I’m gonna call that number and see if they have any Beermeisters left. Hilarious.

We need to do the T-E-C-H cheer again. Not sure why it stopped, but....
...each corner yelled a letter. If we can still do the William Tell Overture, we can certainly do that!

WVU with the untucked look (a la Marquette and DePaul). Respect the funk.

I am used to seeing Jeff Schneider at Big Shots tournaments
He looks a little stiff in this game. My top observation from the video is how much use I could have gotten from the Beermeister in Pritchard.

The Stroh’s commercial at the 1:56:00 mark is hilarious
Aliens land in their yard and steal the beer outta their fridge. I’d forgotten all about that classic!

Those transition years from Fightin' Gobblers to Hokies.
I was a junior or senior when Tech changed to the present athletic logo we have now. I remember the old "VT" or "upside down tree" logo in the center of the basketball court as late as 1984. Lane Stadium still had "Home of the Fightin' Gobblers" on its facade. Most people over 30-35 called Tech "VPI" back in the 80's. Hokies who graduated in the 70's and beyond adapted to "Virginia Tech". The pre-Baby Boomer generations proudly called Tech "VPI". When I was a student during the early to mid-80's, I used to consider anyone who said "VPI" to be oldtimers. ;)
