CMY… please retire. Take all yr money and go golf or something
This embarrasses the University. I have seen better teams in pick up games at the War Memorial Gym. This is not ACC talent, at all

CMY could retire tomorrow and it doesn't solve a single issue with the basketball team
Name the coach you think you're going to get to come to SWVA for limited resources and a fluid NIL situation that changes with the whims of a garbage football program stuck in a daydream about 1999
I fully MY is in the right to walk away from the program, and genuinely don't care if they fire him or he retires, but it doesn't change the program even a slight amount

Move on and act like a serious business that power programs are while still building on the success of the past. He’s in over his head in overseeing what MBB has become.

PG is THE most important position on the team and we don’t have one.
$ Would have helped keep one but CMY had a budget…
I watched play after play set up and could hit the shot…whom do you blame for that?
If you don’t have a played that can beat you off the dribble…You don’t have much of a chance…

This is about lack of NIL funding and a really bad break on the Hysier Miller situation

. . . different players? CMY is responsible for the roster.

to rationalize poor coaching and poor athletic administration.
This is not the first year our current coach has underachieved at VT and it probably won't be the last.
To suggest that no other coach could do better is certifiably insane. We heard the same crap the last time VT let go of a mediocre coach (SG). VT was not a destination school, VT was a football school, no coach would want to come to VT, no coach could win at VT, Cassell is old, Blacksburg is hard to recruit to, blah blah blah. We hired a proven winner and came within a layup of the Elite 8. That guy left, and we replaced him with a coach with a very well defined career ceiling... very similar to SG. The results should surprise no one.

Rarely do I agree with Hokiepro, but this is the correct take

disadvantage than before.
He makes a lot of money, no doubt, but that ACC championship is worth several years of loyalty, in the opinion of this long suffering Tech fan.

We lost 8 of 9 players to the portal. The NIL rationale, if true, means he needs to step up and make a stink. He is the boss. You can’t field a team this bad without some culpability. This team won’t even make the 15 ACC tourney cut

Fund my area the way it needed to and our effectiveness dropped. You can bet your bottom dollar I would have been held responsible. It is my job to make sure my funding needs are met. If corporate still said sorry and the shareholders complained about my groups performance. Then the corporation should explain why. We think this is the growth and resource area. Not here. I got my worst review ever when I didn’t get funding. I wasn’t paid what MY is paid. But was responsible for a larger budget. I learned a hard lesson. After that I learned how to lobby. No didn’t mean whining. It meant private conversations with the gate keepers. It meant showing them cost / benefits. It didn’t mean I always got everything I wanted. But I was able to get more than before. Not saying MY can get more. But I sure hope he is having those conversations. I am not sure I have seen him appeal to us for basketball specific NIL. I know I have seen Pry ask for NIL.

And the "football is god" crowd doesn't actually think it's an issue and have mocked the notion that it is
What do you think would happen if MY stated publicly the football program took his share of NIL funds while at a football school?
He can make all the stink he wants, but he doesn't control where those funds are going and the crowd isn't basketball-friendly
People begging for a competent basketball program while not delivering competent resources have their head so far in the sand it may never come out
