Willard just left due to cheapness of Twerps

they are with football. Based on what I've read, the Aggies are getting a bit tired of him. If so, the smart move is to jump.

Sure, it's self-inflicted, but at least he's self-aware.
I don't know how many of you have ever heard me tell this story, but when VT played Alabama in the 2018 NCAA Tournament in Pittsburgh, Chris Coleman and I (TSL's only two employees at the time) attended, and we were part of the press corps.
We were doing the pre-game press, in a big room full of reporters, and Chris and I were in, oh, maybe the 4th row, or 3rd. A guy in the back of the room asked a question without identifying himself, and Buzz looked into the back, perked up, and said, "Is that Zags? Hey, buddy, how's it going?" It was national hoops writer Adam Zagoria, and Buzz was thrilled to see him and cozy up to him.
At that point, Chris had worked literally dozens of games as our basketball beat writer and had been in the room with Buzz dozens upon dozens of times. But Buzz had never called Chris by name (and of course, he never did). But he was quick to get friendly with his pal "Zags."
That moment was a bit of a revelation for me, and I thought of Buzz differently from that point on. It became clear to me what kind of person he is. He is not a nice person. He isn't kind to people just to be kind (like Frank Beamer, for example).
That's okay. I just didn't realize it until then. And eventually, while people initially may be smitten with his funny way of talking, and his Buzz's Bunch, and his national anthem video and things like that, they eventually figure him out, like I did. And the tide of sentiment turns. And Buzz knows himself, and knows this. So he's always looking to get out before the posse arrives.

said he was phony. That's all I said. I wasn't responding to a post of his. I even said to give him credit because he's good at it. I didn't use bad words or anything. That dude must have people mining all social media for anything negative at all. He's a real piece of work.

Having spent half my adult life around A&M people they are 110% all in on A&M. Buzz graduated from one of A&Ms branch campuses I believe but considers himself an AGGIE. I don't see him ever leaving unless it is for a job with ESPN et al... announcing games. It is interesting though I really could not get Aggies very excited about Buzz coming down there from Blacksburg. They really do only care about football....

A player got a death threat and some other racial comments to his players and the lack of the admistration to say much of anything....
One thing about Buzz, if he doesnt like the situation, he leaves. Marquette (issues with the AD), VT more wanting ot go to A&M and flat line on resources at VT, and now at A&M not comfortable with the climate in college station.
He would do great at Maryland, (but Maryland got issses as well), AD left for SMU, Willard leaving due to lack of investment at Maryland (Williard wants the same investment for NIL as football, (aint happening)...and maryland still in the red
ANywhere you go, there are issues

Maryland jumped to the B1G years ago. They have a sugar daddy with the Under Armor connection, and yet they’re still in the RED???

And I believe still owe the Big money from the original jump to the Big where the Big advanced them a boatload of funds.

is approaching expiration. He is on record with his belief that 6 to 7 years is his shelf life. Personality wise Buzz is a fit for the Twerps as well.

Buzz would fit in well at UMCP and ....
when he departs in 5-6 years, it will be easier for him to sell his house since he'll likley live in a neighborhood where all the houses are worth a few million dollars. ;)

Larry Brown won 2 championships (1 NCAA, 1 NBA).
Kevin Willard seems to be following the Buzz model, too.

Hell, Shaka Smart is on his 3rd team and his name was being thrown around for a few of the openings.

At Marquette he inherited a good team and built them up to an elite 8, the next year they collapsed after everyone graduated.
At VT he recruited 1 good class and a couple other good players (Hill, NAW) then kept them together for the 2019 run.
At TAMU he had 2 decent classes during Covid and got a few transfers then coached them up the last few years. The talent pool currently is dry in college station.
It’s time for Buzz to move on

comparing the Twerps to the Aggies and, if he does, the question would be who he has pictures of. Maryland, while not the same financial wreck as Rutgers, has not righted their financial ship despite B1G money. The next round of financial information releases later this spring and the releases following in the next two years are liable to present a lot of eye opening results with regard to the financial health college athletics. Most think it is no where near as rosy as some of the media rights increases might portend.
