If it's McGonagle
That would be a great pickup. Definitely a top 10 guy but a backup to Crookham right now. Some are saying if Sam is moving up to 41, we could take him for 33. It could also be the other way around as Connor has wrestled 141 before I believe, and Sam could stay at 33. However, point taken, if CM wanted to go 41 he could just stay at Lehigh and would win the spot IMO.

Just trying to get an idea of how hot we're talking

Degrees hot.. TJ went thru a lot before any of this AA stuff happened. It’s a lot in the back drop so let’s hope we work everything out.. TJ loves VT. I know that for sure.

Really love watching him wrestle for the good guys! Really think he's a future national champion, and I hope that's with him wearing O&M. Will be POed if he ends up wearing blue and white!!!!!

I have a buddy that’s an insider in that program. Not saying they won’t take him but they have two top 10 recruits and if he goes it’ll be a 3 way battle for the next 3 years to start. Some like that challenge but not sure that’s who would offer big NIL if you have that much talent already. It’ll be other schools besides Michigan based on what I’ve heard. Hope he stays here and they get it worked out because he’s a flat out Stud!!!!! Go Hokies

Appreciate the insight. I know all of us here are very excited at the opportunity to watch TJ for the next few years. Hope we can make it so VT is the right place all things considered.

I certainly do respect that him and you have to do what you think is best. I just hope that is to continue to be a Hokie. :) He is such a fierce competitor, with a big heart.

If Hipolito, Sasso (Or Smith) and Mullen (or Catka) can go on some runs, we could have a special year.
And...then there's 165.

With Connor transferring Ty is our top 165. He was at nationals celebrating with Caleb and a great team guy. If we do end up getting a transfer even though PSU somehow keeps 2 deep frequently, one would think Barraclough or Facundo would have to leave. I know their guys stay committed but guys with full AA capabilities should not stay on the bench multiple years IMO if possible. I know they have great partners, love their school, and compete for the position, but at some point it's time to start somewhere you would think.(Beard).
They have: Levi, Mesenbrink, Barraclough, Facundo, and Sealey in redshirt for 2 spots. Unless Starr leaves, that is 5 guys for 2 spots at 57/65, and maybe someone is big enough to bump to 74 if Starr does not return. Barraclough is a senior, does not have a redshirt left and is a top 12 guy with a real possibility to AA. I would think he would want to start somewhere but no inside information at all.

leave? Neither of them is beating Mitchell IMO. Mitchell could move to 57 and Levi to 65 but either way they have 2 more years behind Levi and 3 more years behind Mitchell, after not wrestling this year. Facundo just used his redshirt and has 3 more I believe. I love loyalty and think having a competition for the spot is very reasonable, but if you are AA level and are behind the #1ish guy in the country for your entire schooling one would think you want to start at some point and achieve a life long goal on the podium somewhere else. ...every decision is individual though.

PSU brought in transfers and recruits over them, they don't have to be "loyal" these days it's part of the game. If you don't have a starting spot and will not have one in the near future (see Ulrey) the school should just encourage the kid to find a spot where they can wrestle. This isn't a situation like Nagao taking 4th and then just bolting.

But he would be a big hole in the lineup based on his results so far in college. Hope the coaches have a plan here

Henrich, when he enrolls, is a tough recruit. Probably could be a qualifier, but redshirting would be ideal.
