the ACC should negotiate a large exit fee, and let them go. A large enough exit fee to set precedent that Clemson and any other school that have visions of grandeur would pause.
The b12 were lucky to get money from Texas and OK, as the PAC didn't receive a dime.

Those that left did not pay any exit fees, GOR money, or any penalty, other than walking from the conferences assets.
When USC and UCLA left, it was a clean break, with no compensation to the schools or conference they left behind. Texas an OU, if their departure had not been leaked, would have done the same. They (ESPN) paid to get out one year early. If they had played one more season, they would not have had to pay anything.
Exit fees are different, as I think we are talking the media rights here.

The 10 that left received no conference money for 2023-2024. Also the conference owed money to Comcast, so they may have paid that, then split the rest with WSU and OSU.

They will have been shown to not honor the contracts they agree to. Doubtful that ESPN will pay more for them in the SEC or Big XII. If they try to go before the judgement is made in North Carolina, then the ACC will sue any other league to retain the Media Rights to FSU home games. The SEC has already said that they are not interested in opening themselves up for a lawsuit.
So yes. Where does FSU think they are going? This article to me didn't offer any new argument by FSU attorneys, just whining about the expense that FSU has taken upon itself.

The B1G would take them in a heartbeat to get into Florida. ESPN would make more money with FSU playing an SEC schedule (i.e. higher ratings drive higher advertising income).

that model better than FSU. Fox’s bread and butter is the NFL. They are promoting the NFL on Saturday with B1G games. Rutgers and Maryland have almost never been football powerhouses. So why wouldn’t they grab USF and continue with their model to promote the Bucs on Saturday through USF?

The Big Ten also has a policy where they don't like to schedule any non-conference games after October 1. Wonder if they will allow USC to host ND late in the year which has been the tradition. They may want to send one of their members out of the cold in November out there instead of ND. ND usually plays them earlier in South Bend anyway.
