Pulling in 60% of SEC/B1G money instead of 40%? How’s that sustainable?
They set up this disparity over the years with contracts and hype, and it has become self perpetuating. They, and Fox, need to overpay the other P41/2 conferences to level the playing field. I really don’t see that happening. Does Mr. Skipper think otherwise?

more than one source (John Skipper former ESPN President and mastermind behind Conference Expansion) also saying the ACC will be fine. It also makes since that if ESPN gets behind the PAC it can be saved. Lastly, people saying that ESPN probably isn’t going to do a deal with the Big 12. Believe what you want, with all of those things lining up, it sure seems more than plausible to me.

Right now they have the Big XII Tier 3 excluding Oklahoma who is with Fox, and they show it all on ESPN+ with the exception of Texas, which is on the Longhorn Network. Both Texas and Oklahoma will soon be doing what the SEC is doing. I don't know how long Oklahoma is committed to Fox for Tier 3, but as soon as it is done, they'll go SEC Network.
I'm hearing CBS will be going on in on Big XII Tier 1, and that the Big XII wants another provider for Tier 2, or CBS Sports Net.

There aren't but so many TV slots available. Rest assured, SEC will get all the good, decent, and near decent TV slots. ACC will be relegated to ACCN or ACC streaming. The occasional ACC game will show up on espn or ABC.
Such as when ND is playing at Clemson, etc..

I think that there's some guilt on behalf of UCLA & USC...
because they were so proud of the Pac-8/10/12 history and bragged about their conference being the "Conference of Champions". They don't want to be the two schools who destroyed the Pac-12 and possibly ending its 63 year history and even its 107 year history when it was originally called the Pacific Coast Conference. They took the money over tradition and have put their beloved athletics conference in dire straits ("I Want My BTN" LOL!). They still hope that the Pac-10 survives. Maybe they'll both return sometime in the future.

That's good news for Virginia Tech and the ACC. BTW, he lives in Seattle and went to Seattle University, sorry but I have my doubts about him feeling guilty over the two Southern Cal schools, even if he does write about them.

I'm talking in general about UCLA and USC, the universities.
It's like UNC and Duke leaving behind long time ACC members NC State, Wake, UVA and Clemson. UCLA and USC were the proudest Pac-12 members just like UNC and Duke are the ACC's proudest members. Another example would be Michigan and Ohio State leaving the B1G. Both those schools are very proud of their conference.

currently with the remaining Pac schools. But after absorbing the initial shock with USC/UCLA the PAC schools are staring to realize there will be better options then being tied to that unwieldly and instable conference.
Ultimately I think the Big 12 schools will be twisting in the wind over the next decade more so that ACC and remaining PAC.

I like the teams in the Big XII. But let's face it, as a collective, they
don't have cachet of the ACC or Pac school. Nor the markets. Decent in both basketball and football though.

rather stay together if they can get close to the Big 12 agreement for TV. If ESPN, is back in the game and the PAC goes with them, that is entirely possible. CBS who is rumored to be getting the Big 12, has most of their money in the NFL and the AFC to be exact. That's why ESPN blew the CBS offer away for the SEC.
