Finally figured out an executed the pivot to get to St. Thomas on Sunday ..
Flying to San Juan, PR this afternoon, spending 2 lovely days in our fine US territory and flying to St. Thomas on Sunday. Traded 2 business class tickets AND $350 to fly coach tonight. If we get there it was the best trade ever made. If the original flight from Sunday gets down there I will be a little annoyed but instead of worrying for 2 days I get 2 days in Puerto Rico. Adios mi amigos.

Spent a week on St. John over Christmas
If you decide to take the ferry over that way, and need restaurant or beach recommendations, let me know.

WISE move. I'd be more surprised if anything went out on Sunday than not!

The only thing you should be worried about is a nightmare at 20,000 feet

You didn't hear? The models shifted...
The low is taking a right turn instead of a left and headed all the way down to Brazil, dragging that arctic air with it. Seriously, we all wish we were headed with you this weekend. Enjoy!

Don't I WISH!!!! We are supposed to go to Anguilla NEXT Sunday and I'm ->
not positive WE will get out on Feb 1st. Hopefully it'll have settled down by then, but NO WAY my wife leaves our cats if we still have no electricity. She wouldn't enjoy herself...and I'm not so sure I would either. Just another reason I HATE winter!!

Should have waited until March ourselves. I just figured we'd be SO ready->
for warm weather by the first of February that it was perfect..... We actually have 2 other couples who will be there (or over on St Martin for one of them) the same week. We all plan to catch up for a day at one of those incredible beaches! Hope I didn't outsmart myself.. AGAIN. You guys have fun in March. We plan to return in June/July (haven't decided which yet)

In the past all of our Caribbean trips have just been my wife and me, but
this time I'm taking my two kids (ages 25 and 28) and their significant others, so there will be 6 of us on this trip. Makes logistics a little more difficult, but should be interesting. Flying into St. Martin and then taking a private ferry over so I don't have to deal with the public one in Marigot. Enjoy your trip too. We typically do February too, but with others going we had to find a date that works for everyone. Weather should be great both months so I don't worry about that. It's my favorite island!!!! Just sad that the secret has now gotten out to the rest of the world and development is starting to really take off. ** Edited by Nortazhokie at 1/24/2026, 9:38:10 AM

Check out the El San Juan Hotel if you have the chance. Has a nice casino.

Had an uncle in San Juan
Spent his days in the sun, the nights in the casino. He was a hero.

Congrats VT90. I'd hate to spend that extra $$, but seems well worth it
to make sure you actually GET to your vacation.

Thought you said you had work obligations? Couldn’t go early? Cause going
early is the simplest solution. Just hope your pipes don’t freeze/bust while you’re gone.
