Silver might hit 90 today. I bought some in the low 20's a couple of years
ago, and it is getting hot in my hands. Thinking about selling some - not all. No way this can keep going, right?
Right?

now to have physical inventory...boom... instant shortage. The price will go well past $100. A lot has to be implemented by end of March for these type of prior paper agreements.

Armageddon. Having 5-10% of your liquid assets in precious metals is a prudent strategy. I am not selling any of mine. Just enjoying the ride.

It's all within a one day drive in a level 3 vault, fully insured. I gave my family instructions to hold until the coming financial reset. If they violate my wishes I will visit them in their dreams ;>)
It was an insurance policy for drastic inflation but has suddenly broken out to become real money again (Gold) and an essential scarce Industrial commodity (Silver).
John Maynard Keynes is rolling in his grave...Barbarous Relic indeed!!

Whether we like it or not.

as a mainly symbolic gesture if you had a decent month in sales. I didn't think much about because they were worth about $5.00 or so back then. I recently looked in my home safe and noticed I had about 10 of them. Hmmm....

18 months or so. I kind of kept it and contributed more as a hedge to the market but right now they are both going up. Good times. Time to rebalance.

Similar gains both years, but I was disappointed in the 1st and 4th quarters of 2025. Most (if not all) of my gains were made in the 2nd and 3rd quarters.

I think I know what you are talking about, but rather you tell me. I can think of at least two things that people talk about.
I see what popped up on the news feeds. I was hoping they would make a decision before the end of their session.

sure we are thinking of the same one. The markets like stability as we all know - or stated in a better way, the markets HATE instability. If that ruling goes against stability, look out below. Not to mention the deficit and debt impacts. It will have major global impacts as well.
Note I'm not promoting either side of the argument because I am legally stupid and have no clue about what is 'legal'. I'm just pointing out the ramifications to the markets. I am likely going to hedge things a bit over the next few months to protect against a massive correction.

I have been following the case and know the implications.
The oral arguments made me plan for the worse for months.
On a side note:
I was just happy about the price of Capital One shooting up like mad and the projections going up from 250 a share to 290. Well, it went down 10 percent in the past few days. The upside is currently at 275. I will hold and let that one play out in the courts if a cap is put on interest rates for credit cards.
Thanks for the clarification, but most of all, I hope your wife is doing well.

different cases. I saw the credit card cap thing but didn't think much of that one though it will definitely spook the bank stocks. I wasn't aware that was in the courts - thought it was just a late night 'idea' that now has peaked the interest of the other side of the aisle as well.
I am referring to the tariffs. Don't care whether we have them or not but now that they have been used it will be complete global financial chaos if they are stripped away.

I thought "great idea," but saw someone discussing it on television giving the other side of the argument. It might not be good for the people it's supposed to help (if banks start dropping risky credit card customers).

The more you read, the more interesting it gets. For example, look at current interest rates cap for the military. We have done it for some areas.
yeah, I definitely reading both view points on this one.

favor of that plan.

since we were talking about impacts on financials.
Yes, interest rates have been talk about in the House on both sides way, way before recently. It was mentioned recently, and the markets reacted on Capital One as they should. I just think that market reaction is premature and if it happens I feel it will only impact my COF stock for a while until COF rebalances their business with that decision.
Good news on the wife and happy for both of you.
