Correct answer is, of course, Ok.

That's where it comes from. You think "6-7" is bad...it's nothing new. At the turn of the century (uh...1800s to 1900s), it became a fad to spell things purposely incorrectly. So, "all correct" (which I guess was a common phrase) because "oll korrect" - and "ok" was derived from that. The only thing that stuck around from that fad, as far as I know.

In articles, I always correct "OK" to "okay." More formal.
