Spent 5 hours in the ER this afternoon for my daughter
Sidenote: my wife who works at a hospital tells me it's the Emergency Department... Not the Emergency Room.
Anyways, our daughter was having trouble at school gagging so my wife came and got her. (Quick backstory.. she's disabled with lots of issues likely genetic from her birth parents. So she can't communicate when she's hurt or sick. Also doesn't have the mental understanding to cough up or swallow vomit or phlegm and has major reflux issues.)
When she got home she continued to cough and gag on thick phlegm, ended up choking and going limp and unconscious. Wife was able to get her back and make her vomit it. She was out for probably 30 seconds and was turning blue. So she rushed her to the ED.
They gave her zofran and fluids and she perked right up. All tests were good.
That place (Carilion-Christiansburg) was, as usual, packed. Sick people everywhere on beds in the hall. So it took forever there. Fortunately my brother was the one duty police officer there so he came by a few times and made her happy to see him (until he had to go babysit a frequent visitor tripping on cocaine), so that made it bearable.
Anyways, I'd say the odds of us getting sick from that place at 50/50. Also, very happy to be home tonight.

So sorry you guys have been through that, but I'm glad everything seems to have turned out OK. I just said a prayer for protection for your sweet little girl.

You'll get to sleep well in another 15 years. Hoping you both have a better day today.
