Indiana University Purdue University Indianapolis has a solid ME Tech program - - we hire their graduates and in my opinion for many engineering roles their emphasis on labs and hands on work makes them great candidates over BSME’s (from my perspective as a BSME & MSME). Indiana University added an engineering program several years ago but nothing in Indiana compares to Purdue - - they’re absolutely top notch.

Coach added that option several years ago, as a win-win for more $ ($60 a yard, for mulch and labor), and a different kind of workout for the kids. It’s awesome - they show up with ~ 10 kids and a couple of adults who are mostly there for quality control, and spread 6 yards in our mulch beds in about an hour vs. me taking 2-3 days to do it.

Went into Best Buy and explained my challenge to a guy in his 60’s, fully expecting him not to have any idea. No option to control a 2nd device beyond the tv…

Going to YouTube tv, loaded on Roku fire sticks for consistency across different brands of tvs in the house… One of the things that I have liked about our Xfinity remote is that the single remote turns on the television, the cable box, and our surround sound system all with one press the power button…. And the channel buttons on the remote change the channel on the cable box, and the volume buttons on that remote change the volume on the surround sound system. It seems the Roku remote will only control the television. I have an audio cable running from the television to the surround sound system, so I’m getting sound where I want it, but I am having to use the surround sound system’s remote to turn it on and off, and control the volume. Roku tech support says go buy a Roku sound bar. Nope. Dad and I ate there tonight (Oct 12)…. First time I’ve been in town since this thread back in August… Dad had the scallops over risotto and I had salmon over Thai noodles…. Both were absolutely fantastic and our server, Jeff, was great!

Heading to Blacksburg that weekend to visit my (elderly) Dad. No football game that weekend. Any festivals, shows, etc going on that weekend? I see there is a Scottish Highlanders festival in Radford…. Anyone been to that and have any feedback on that? We had a crew of 7 in there this past Saturday morning and everyone was lovin’ it… There’s a family connection to the crew running lefty’s which I also highly recommend - - Lefty’s specials are almost always terrific - - but noting Joester’s comment below it has been at least 6 months since we’ve been there… Cabo Fish Taco, Avallino’s, the Cellar, Macado’s and for lunch Souvlaki’s are also on our list! Eastern Divide can be fun, especially if the weather is nice so you can sit outside and enjoy the view. … they finally credited my credit card… This was a year and a half ago… It’s a shame because their room setup is great if you are renting 3-4 rooms and can get them all in one ‘unit’ so you have the common area, including kitchen, to yourselves…

I happened to be watching their tv coverage of the rally live when it happened, and the tv coverage immediately jumped to it being a shooter…. I was actually flipping back and forth to Fox in the first 15-20 min and it was similar coverage / conjectures…. Would be interesting indeed if the cnn web folks were scripting it so differently than the cnn tv folks…

Our adult daughter had braces in middle school, made it through the program, abandoned the retainer too early, and over the years (29 y.o.) needed to straighten ‘em out again. She felt comfortable when her dentist recommended Invisalign, and signed up for the scan and fitting. Shows up for the fitting expecting it to be minor adjustments to a mouthpiece and instead they are gluing pucks to her teeth to increase the load on given teeth to move. And, worse.., …. Like way worse I think… Dentist starts drilling / grinding away edges of two of her teeth to provide space for her teeth to move. WTF? She freaked but trusted her dentist, whereas I would have walked. Nobody doing that to me… but I’m ignorant of Invisalign normal procedures…. So…. Any Invisaligners out there who can weigh in on whether that grinding thing is really part of the fitting?
