Invisalign (teeth straightening)…
Our adult daughter had braces in middle school, made it through the program, abandoned the retainer too early, and over the years (29 y.o.) needed to straighten ‘em out again.
She felt comfortable when her dentist recommended Invisalign, and signed up for the scan and fitting.
Shows up for the fitting expecting it to be minor adjustments to a mouthpiece and instead they are gluing pucks to her teeth to increase the load on given teeth to move. And, worse..,
…. Like way worse I think…
Dentist starts drilling / grinding away edges of two of her teeth to provide space for her teeth to move.
WTF?
She freaked but trusted her dentist, whereas I would have walked. Nobody doing that to me… but I’m ignorant of Invisalign normal procedures….
So…. Any Invisaligners out there who can weigh in on whether that grinding thing is really part of the fitting?
