Virginia isn’t the best
But it’s it’s clearly among the top 10 to 15. Clearly Texas, California and Florida will always be better. Georgia, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Michigan are strong. Virginia is In the discussion from there.

Shirley you can't be serious
Nationally people scoff at g5 auto New Year's Day Bowl and playoff slots. The Oregon Liberty game was over in the 2nd qtr. JMU will surprise if they cover the 21. ACC as a whole and especially the ACCCG was a national joke. Nobody knows or cares where ODU is. A little harsh but the truth.

Probably Texas or Florida, typically.

You are correct
UT - 2nd most wins in the 21st century TAMU - in the playoffs TT - in the playoffs with a bye SMU - ACC champion in their first year BU - struggling of late but recent high level success under both Art Briles and Matt Rhule TCU - recent playoff team UH, UNT and others periodically catch fire

Ohio, NC and Louisiana would like a word with that logic
Ohio has 5 bowl teams, with 1 being Ohio State North Carolina has 5 as well, 3 ACC teams, ECU and App State 4 teams from Louisiana, and there's only 5 Div 1 FBS programs (like Virginia), made a bowl.

In the DMV, perhaps. Not much further

There are individual teams that would beat the pants off a VA college
all star team.

I just spit out my coffee.
If JMU is the best team in your state then states like Georgia, Texas aren’t super scared.

Heck, Indiana has the #1 ranked team and the true #1(Notre Dame)
Other than JMU making the CFP none of the OP listed achievements are that impressive. Liberty got boatraced 45-6, ODU won a meaningless bowl game, and UVa is an 8-4 squad masquerading as a 10-3 team given the weak schedule and they crapped the bed against a 7-5 team in the ACCCG. VT on the rise is to be determined, but we can hope.

Texas has 9 bowl teams. 2 in the playoffs (which actually belong there).

That's 11 total for any making the same mistake I did and thinking
2 of those 9 are the playoff teams. 11 teams from the state of Texas in the postseason.

Sorry, I consider the playoffs as bowls. 9 - including playoff teams

Oh, it's 11. aTm, Texas Tech, Prairie View A&M, UTSA, North Texas
Houston, TCU, Texas, Rice, Texas State and SMU. This whole thread made me go through the bowl list and place each team in a state. Texas outstrips everyone with the next closest being 5 teams (Ohio and North Carolina)

Damn, nice catch. I forgot Houston and Rice (both in Houston, TX...)
