ACC champ game tix are already dropping
Yesterday it was face value for $60 plus $12 in fees as the cheapest.
Today it is already down to $60 total price including fees. And the scalpers are starting to release more of their tickets. This is going to get ugly for the ACC with less than 30,000 there for their champ game on a cold night.
Duke getting in was the worse case scenario for an already wounded league. And both fan bases really have no reason to travel for this since they just played a few weeks ago in front of 27k fans.
This league is in desperate need of new leadership if it wants to survive.

That should be the first tiebreaker elimination if there is a clear #1. If any team tied for second lost to #1, they are out especially in a huge conference like this where nobody plays everybody

the easiest schedules possible, the league set itself up for the worst matchup possible between two schools hoos fan base doesn't even attend their own home games. They could find a high school field halfway between Cville and Durham and play the game there and not sell out. The league deserves to be embarrassed.

in their worst year of football in over 50 years while uvgay had 0 in their best year ever. Of course the only reason it was their best year is because of their schedule. No GT No Miami No SMU No Pitt Refs overturning calls which benefited uvgay in OT games which enabled them to win against weak competition. Wash St player calling fair catch. You were a lot more lucky than good. The best team you played was Duke, and they are awful.

League leadership isn't going to keep FSU, Miami, and Clemson from crapping the bed.
Until those teams step up the smaller schools with big budgets are going to be competitive.

In 2004, with FSU, Miami, VT, Clemson, and the cast of decent programs, it looked like it was as good as any. Early 2000 Miami and FSU were the premier programs. Recency bias screams SEC but Alabama, the flagship struggled a lot. When they did get their natty it was a big upset over big, bad Miami.I can't believe how the top teams have struggled other than Clemson's 5-7 year run.

NC State and Maryland were having perceived success at the time. It was looked at as basically half the conference being top tier. Miami, FSU, Clemson, NC State, Maryland, and forceful marriage with us was a 50% top tier teams conference. Of course we all know now that all that fell apart, Maryland isn’t even here anymore, eating scraps in the BIG. You can claim recency bias, but it doesn’t hold. The SEC has been dominant with different teams the entire time, the ACC (outside individual great years for single teams) had I believe a single good year as an entire conference.

Strictly talking about 2004 when we joined. Obviously a strong conference but where was the dominance? Like I said Bama upset Miami for their only title between The Bear and Saban(28 years). I would say Georgia got one in 82? with Walker. Spurrier had the best program with Florida. And Fulmer got one having to face Rooster Outzen at QB when Wienke got hurt. Wish we would have had that luck one year later. Anyway, always a great league but at the time not as good as FSU and definitely not prime Miami.

nattys but they didn't dominate in winning nattys like they do now - other than Bama the SEC was well behind the B1G and Pac-12 (believe it or not!) in winning football nattys. Then they really ramped up promotion of their league, they got Saban and Bama rolling and they have continued that momentum with FL, UGA and LSU winning at least 2 each in the past 20 years plus Bama's 6. ACC had 3 in the same time period? A decade ago the ACC could legitmately compete occasionally, but as we saw a couple years ago with FSU the "committee" doesn't even deem an undefeated season in the ACC as worthy (maybe they are correct but putting Bama in over FSU was a joke). The question is how can the ACC promote themselves and rehab their image? Winning yes - but it takes more these days.

capitalized on. Great geographic recruiting footprint. Great media markets. Great academics.
But, this league failed to secure it's own media rights like the Big 10 did before cable was obsolete. Failed to invest in having top notch football - every team not named Clemson went cheap on coaching and football investments. Absolutely abysmal leadership with way too much old boys club and zero forward thinking. Too late to salvage this league now as we are too far behind.
