Although we did somehow manage to pull just about the hardest schedule we could have in the all charmin conference. I think it all depends on the Pitt game. The timing is not ideal, probably sitting at 4-0 thinking we’re good, players feeling good, national attention starting to ramp up…and the storyline if we lose. I can see it now “James Franklin wouldn’t play Pitt when he was at PSU, now we know why!”. Cringing just thinking about it. I say 8 wins, 9 if we beat Pitt. Also the curse I feel this program has been under would be lifted in my eyes if we beat them.

We need to start winning these games the way the big boys do. 63-0. I know it’s unlikely first year, but I cannot accept another 45-14 with it only breaking open in the 4th quarter.

I had no idea who they were, they just saw the Hokie bird on my car and struck up a conversation. I was so caught off guard they told me their names and I didn’t even respond with mine. No insider information or anything like that. Just good people.

Absolutely wonderful couple. They had great things to say about VT and Franklin. Apparently he’s loving it in Blacksburg, and they seem to really understand how special the community and fan base are. Can’t say enough about how great they were. I have a feeling we are going to see something incredible out him in his time here.

It just blows my mind. What percentage actually make it to the league? One last chance to play football forever? No thanks, I’m going home. Just wow.

If Franklin is half as good as advertised, we’ll be in the ACC least worst “best team” game next year.

NC State and Maryland were having perceived success at the time. It was looked at as basically half the conference being top tier. Miami, FSU, Clemson, NC State, Maryland, and forceful marriage with us was a 50% top tier teams conference. Of course we all know now that all that fell apart, Maryland isn’t even here anymore, eating scraps in the BIG. You can claim recency bias, but it doesn’t hold. The SEC has been dominant with different teams the entire time, the ACC (outside individual great years for single teams) had I believe a single good year as an entire conference.

Not sure how everything ends up.

Don’t know why this fan base loves to beat around the bush when it’s so obvious.

I’ll be pretty surprised if we get to a bowl in the next 2-3 years. Maybe if he hits the transfer portal hard at the end of the season and some of the younger players are more of a fit it won’t be quite so bad.
