Fun place

Went to Budapest on business a couple of years ago. It is a great walking city. The food was great, and I had a good time trying the varieties of Palinka. I only have one bottle left, it's hard to find.

Horrible...

That guy might of broken his leg on a worthless play in the Mayo bowl.

Can't stand him.

We're fortunate that in about 15 min. we will be free of him and his voice for the rest of the day.

Some did..

I saw an Instagram video of a jmu fan taking the train across country from VA. to Oregon. Looked like a great trip.

The ACC needs to adopt the CFP committee jargon...

The have free use of "eye-test" and if that doesn't work they use "metrics."

He was the guy most wanted to succeed

But it didn't work out. Franklin will find out that he might have to burn the midnight oil to attract recruits to VT.

I think he will fit in well there

Managed expectations, as well as time to establish a culture. Good fit.

I look at it this way...

If he decides to become the coach at VT(which is a big "if"), and demands the salary that many have posited, will we be "house poor?" NIL money has been shown to be equally as important as coaching salary. Would he ask for a reduced salary knowing that psu will pay the difference? Or will he want what people are bandying about. My gut feeling is that if he comes to VT, he will have one foot out the door. I have never considered loyalty when it comes to cfb coaches, but JF does not have it.

Dabo's buyout is pretty high,

so is Norvell's. I figured those potential openings would directly compete with VT. UF, LSU and PSU, not so much.

Franklin will want guarantees..

That he will have the budget for not only high priced assistants but NIL money to buy a team year one. I have no doubt that with the right money given, he could do that. Something tells me the "pucker factor" will guide the hiring committee to find a less expensive model. PSU fundraising is second to none, we don't want to write a check that our butt can't cash.

I saw that..

It would be great to have guardrails in CFB, but the cat is out of the bag. He'll talk a big game until his donors, who are also LSU donors tell him to pipe down and go with the flow.

Ha.

Would be interesting to see his blood pressure spike during a Friday night "winner take all" game on the CW. He is 64, the rehab of this program is 4 years. Why not fail at LSU as long as possible, take the buy out, and spend the money on a quadruple bypass.

Florida has an off week...

They will be looking for a coach. They have deep pockets, and a donor base that has no problem spending money. 400 mil. to modernize the stadium. Assuming Kiffen will stay at Ole Miss, Franklin could drop into a better situation than usual. With all of the caveats that VT has with spending money, this might be the worst season to look for a coach.

..

I am sure this is TIC. He would be crazy to leave Carolina for a dumpster-fire of a program, that resides in a Springfield-esqe tire fire of a conference. Even if he were to be fired, there are better alternatives to VT. Sadly, any credit for the past, and-or good will that VT had to the Beamers or to the college football gods is forfeit and forgotten. We have roughly five years to polish this turd, after that.....what ever.

I agree..

The Vanderbilt solution is always an option for a QB. In addition, money needs to be spent on O-line. 250k-300k per position, per year at minimum. With that, a portal RB will be intrigued. WR can be recruited: look at the true freshman that are making an impact. Money for them will come later. The defense is another monster. A d-line is 200k a player? Secondary 150-175 a player? Now that we're burning money, the sky is the limit. JK.

Sounds great..

We could also set up a Ouija board in the coaches box and establish contact with Beeno Cook. He could be oversight from Pittsburg. TIC.

That is the question.

The gulf in monies between the P2 and the rest will get exponentially wider every year. Without a wealthy fan base will a "hot" HC candidate take the risk at VT vs. wait another year for a P2 offer. Why risk it?

That whole run out is comical

The bus trip from the bottom of the stadium to the top. The micro cannon. The uhaul dolly to transport said micro cannon.

No excuses here...

But we're missing some players. I will say that IMHO the verdict is out regarding "Ponch". He needs to succeed with less, and I am not sure if he is used to that. Also, the level of play in Concacaf is poor.
